Description
Bluestone Brewing is an exciting, eco-friendly family run brewery situated in the foothills of the Preseli Hills in North Pembrokeshire. We produce hand crafted real ales, using local water filtered down through the Bluestone Hills to produce a range of flavoursome Rock Solid Ales. Our ten barrel brewery lives in the front yard of Tyriet Farm, which is still a working farm to this day.
The name Bluestone Brewing Company comes from the local stone that the buildings were built from many years ago. Bluestone is also pretty famous for being mysteriously transported over 250 miles to become Stonehenge over 5000 years ago!

Can from Bluestone Brewery, Gwaun Valley. Extremely dark red with next to no head. Its coffee, which is at its most stated in its nose, makes this a gritty tasting and gritty brew in both aroma and taste

500ml bottle. Pours a relatively clear gold with a fine mist, medium sized white head. Not much aroma. Taste is floral sweet, some mild honey with shades of pale malt. Fine.

500ml bottle from The Bay Hop, Colwyn Bay. Looks the part, deep chestnut amber, relatively clear with a sparse off-white topping. Aroma brings moderately sweet caramel malt. Continues to taste, good rich moderately sweet malt with integrated marmalade dried fruits and a cool bitterness. Very good Welsh bitter.

500ml bottle from Wales Ales. Gluten Free. Golden colour, white foam head and aroma of malt, honey hint, fruity. Taste is sweet, malty fruity, hay, straw, with some grassy citrusy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry citric bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

10th February 2023; Ludlow Brewery Valentine Beer Festival, hand-pulled half-pint. Pale golden body, white top. Citrus front to the nose and taste, all a bit subtle though. Hoped for more depth and flavours.
