Description
We are Oedipus Brewing. Founded by four friends in Amsterdam, we’re always ready to go where our taste buds take us. Oedipus is about fun, energy and doing things differently. We create fantastical beers to reveal to the world that beer is a magical beverage: tasty, exciting and for everyone. Welcome to our universe 🖖🏽
Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.
The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.

Tap at Patronaat. Hazy golden. Quite malty, bread, soft apple, grassy hops, a touch of bakers yeast. Not really Belgian, very agreeable blond without much character.

0.33 l bottle from 'Bierothek', bottled in April 2022. Hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly sourish, quite fruity-floral, a little herbal-spicy aroma of lemon peel, grapefruit, pineapple and a touch of lemongrass. Minimally sweet, gently sour, rather fruity-floral, a bit herbal-spicy taste of grapefruit, lemon peel, lemongrass and some pineapple, followed by a short, gently tart, a bit herbal-spicy finish. Thin to medium body, slightly astringent and gently effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Refreshing and pleasant session beer, perfect for hot summer days, good stuff.
