Since mid 2019 has Heineken a minority interest in the brewery. On June 21, 2023, it was announced that Heineken had acquired all shares of the brewery and thus became full owner of the brewery. The takeover coincides with the move of Oedipus.
The brewery and taproom at Gedempt Hamerkanaal 85 were closed on April 14, 2024. The brewery and taproom were moved to Schaafstraat 19, 300 meters further, where the Oedipus Craft Space will open in the early summer of 2024.
Bottle from Potje Bier, thanks! Orange golden color, hazy. Spicy aroma, mint orange and ginger. Malty sweet, spicy flavor. Almost sugary, hiding the spicy notes somewhat. Not a prize winner.
Bottle from Potje Bier, thanks! Deep golden color. Hazy. Floral aroma with pepper. Hint of citrus. Floral, citric soft peppery flavor. A spicy bitterness. Well balanced, tasty beer.
Bottle. Orange golden color. Orange peels and citrus in the aroma. Marmelade. Malty sweetish, sharp citric flavor with orange peels. Tartness, next to the hopbitterness. Pleasant beer, surprisingly well balanced.
Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Roastaroma with licorice. malty sweet roasty flavor with licorice. Salty. Creamy mouthfeel. Rich, slightly alcoholic stout.
From bottle, Carnivale Brettanomyces 2014. Blonde. Soft rhubarb notes in the aroma. Rhubarb, a hint of salt and citrus in the flavor. Malty. Soft leathery notes, Sour and Sharp.
Bottle, blonde. Lemongrass in the soft spicy aroma. Thinnish. Malty spicy flavor with citrus,lemongrass and coreander. Pleasant, should go well with Asean food.
