290ml bottle [another Grumbonian gift - thanks!]. Cloudy, orangey amber colour with with small, frothy to creamy, diminishing, minimally lacing, white head. Perfumed, floral-herbal-spicy and nutty aroma, notes of petals, coniferes, oak, hints of chestnut, some rye spiciness; Taste is dry, oaky, floral-herbal-spicy, hints of petals, a touch of lavender, underlying hints of chestnut. Quite unusual, very interesting composition.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Almost clear amber - brown beer, small pale tan head. Smooth and semi dry palate, modest fine carbonation. Mildly sweet brown malts, little earthyness. Touch of tangy fruits. Esters. Dry finish brings a suggestion of wood. No oaky goodness here.

Keg at LBA. It pours hazy straw yellow with a medium white head. The aroma is fresh, doughy white bread, grassy, weedy, spice, earth and leather. The taste is crisp, dry, straw, grassy bit of spice, earth, floral and peppery spice we other a firmly dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Nice lager bier.
