Poured into a chalice, the appearance was a golden yellow color with a half fingerβs worth of white foamy head that dissipated fairly quick. Just a rim of lace slides with the beer.
The aroma had some soft banana to sweet bubblegum sugars. Light candied fruit and then some coriander and a touch of booze. Vanilla, biscuits and some herbal qualities enter in as it warms.
The flavor leads with the sweetness of the blend between the sugars, banana and boozy notes. Somewhat of a phenol-like to pomme-like fruity aftertaste and then hits the finish fairly the same.
On the palate, this one sits between sessionable and sipping, something somewhat light about it but the booziness coming out seems to make me want to sip it. The weight seems closer to medium bodied. Light stickiness hits my lips. Some boozy hotness crosses the back of my throat. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, not exactly a stellar Tripel but one that might be better in time. If I had another bottle, Iβd age this to see if that booziness slides on out.

A brown from a bottle, somewhat burnt molasses smell and herbal schnapps notes in the mouth for some reason, like a coughdrop or jagermeister. Okay beer.

Fresh 12 ounce can with a date of 10-7-16. Gifted by Chalumeaux. Color is a clear gold with lasting foamy head. Aroma shows pilsner malt, bread, maybe honey.
The flavor is mostly grain with yeast, minor astringency. The body is light but it does have a creamy texture over the tongue. Better if consumed cold but not bad for the style.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with medium retention recedes to skim surface. Dusty grape and tropical fruit aromas. Dry with mango and papaya upfront turning to hot bitter pith that turns cloying in the lasting finish.
