330 ml bottle @ Patricks. Dark brown, practically black with a fine, stable, dense, creamy, lacing beige head. Pleasant aroma of dark, roasted malt, coffee, chocolate and hint of pine. Flavor is medium sweet, almost dry in malt flavor, but some light balancing sweetness from dry fruit. Coffee, dark chocolate, hint of liquorice and balancing bitterness. Good balanced body and a long lasting aftertaste of dark, roasted malt that ends quite dry, almost a bit acidic. A really nice, robust stout with some complexity and well-hidden alcohol.

Flaske 330ml på Skarven 27 Feb 16. Servert i Bådin-glass! Småhissig. Mørk gylden. Uklar. Høyt luftig stabilt skum. Utmerket rik fruktaroma. Mandarin & plommer. Smaken balansert. Fersken & plommer. Litt syrlig og bitter etter hvert. Smaken varer lenge og blir pikant tørr. Litt for mye kullsyre men masse mersmak. Litt bunnfall igjen på flaska.

On tap at Patrick’s. A murky orange brown beer with a big creamy off-white head leaving lacing. It’s piney and resiny on the nose, with some caramel sweetness and notes of bread. It’s full bodied, quite smooth and a bit heavy on the carbonation. Rather dry. Nice bitterness in the mouth, with pine cones and resins overpowering the caramel and nutty bread. Some yeast notes too, wouldn’t mind being without them. Mostly bitter, piney finish. A decent beer but it’s sure not that one in a million IPA/IRA. 160303

Bottle at Piccadilly, Bod. Pours a pitch black color with a light brown creamy head. A little careful aroma of dark chocolate, coffee beans, leather and rubber. The flavor is more roasted with lots of coffee beans, ash and dark chocolate. Has an incredibly soft mouth feel, full-bodied and a light bitterness. A great, roasted and well-balanced IS. Surprisingly easy-drinking.

Powerful and yet easy drinkable power stout. Mellow and round stuff.
Almost complete black color with a fine beige head. Ok intensity in the aroma with some chocolate, coffee and mild licorice. Some faint alcohol notes. Medium + body and a softish carbonation. Mellow sweetness and moderate bitterness. Oily texture. Ok complexity in the flavor. Coffee, mild roast, some chocolate and some licorice.

Bottle at home. Pours a golden color with a small off-white head. Perfume-like aroma of flowers, citrus, mild grapefruit, wet hay, mint, NZ-hops and grass. The herbs are more pronounced in the flavor along with pale malt, cloves, dry hay and apricot. A slight chili touch in the end. Has a slick mouth feel, medium body and a light bitterness. Not quite a wit but a spicy and fruity golden ale.
