Description
Our journey began with the end of founder and owner Andy Smith's former career in fine dining. An avid home-brewer, Andy sought to make fresh exciting beer that was difficult to find here in the UK. A move from his home town of Leeds to London soon presented the opportunity to work with Andy Moffat at Redemption Brewing in Tottenham. Here he studied and learned to ply his trade as a professional brewer whilst making many friends and contacts in the fast growing UK beer scene. In 2012, one of these friends, Evin O'Riordain of The Kernel Brewery kindly offered to pass on their original brew kit as the Kernel embarked upon expansion. A short time later, some premises secured just down the railway line, and Kernel and Partizan were established as neighbors; so the brewery was born.

The brewery relocated late 2017 from Almond Road to its current location.

Today

Ten years later and much like other small breweries across the UK Partizan has faced tough trading conditions; namely the lasting effects of the pandemic, soaring inflation and increasing rent. To both protect Partizan and avoid chasing inflation and increasing prices, the brewery moved its production out of London in 2023 to a farm in Market Harborough in rural Leicestershire, locating it at long-time friends, Langton Brewery.

We are now expanding the brewery here, on the farm. By Spring 2024 we will have a new fermenter hall and a greater capacity than we ever had in London which will allow us to brew exciting new beers and to collaborate with old friends and new. Despite the draw of the countryside our roots are still in London and we will continue to meet the demands of our customers in the city that we still call home.

Nawet spoko owocowosc z cebulka, ale w uscie moze i rzeskie ale tez szorstkie, kapke alkoholowe, jakies takie agresywne, nie do konca mi. Na cieplej tez cos w aromacie mniej fajnego wylazi. Jakby banany? Ale calosciowo OK i tak... 3.3?

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours subtly hazy yellow-gold with a frothy, pure white head. Not bad overall, has some bread, grainy wheat notes, lemony hops, touches of pine needles, grassy bitterness, pithy grapefruit. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Nicely balanced finish, some further bready notes, pithy grapefruit and lemon, more assertive grassy bitterness. Drinks alright.

23.03.2019, tap @ Apollon:
Nice fizzy-creamy mediumlasting head, slightly hazy very dark amber color. Aroma is slightly dry sour-ish grassy, leafs, weeds, dusty hops, pine needles, bark, soil, sour grass, dark malts, hints of toast and coffee. Taste is dry sour-ish grassy, weeds, harsh hops, sour grass, bark, alcohol, minerals, pine needles, soil, fruit stones, dark malts, leafs, medicine, hints of harsh sour coffee. Longlasting harsh bitterness, dry boozy mouthfeel. Not my cup of coffee.

Bottle shared in London - picked up at Clapton Craft. Pours hazy gold-brown with a small, creamy white head. Not bad, has some toasted pine, earth, nips of cocoa, orange peel. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, hints of baking cocoa, pine, brown bread. Fine.

Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Hazy cloudy pale gold colour lasting white head. Big citra lovely citrus aroma grapefruit, lemon, tangerine. Lovely in the mouth, very drinkable, quite full. Some bitterness on the finish.. Quite a lot of bitterness in fact. I liked the flavour definitely. My palate must have got used to all these light bitter IPAs of the past 6 months, cos this is really quite bitter on the finish to me. liked it.

Light haze on this paleish gold beer, small white head. Palate is light, semi dry and has a decent nibbly carbonation. Nice combo of nippy juniper, floral orange and ripe lemon here. A softer sweeter floralness on the back end. Leaves a mildly bitter juniper linger. Nicely done and well joined up. Could drink a lot of this, which for me, is very unusual in a Saison.

Cloudy pale yellow, soapy head. Despite the age (4 months) smells fresh and hoppy - ripe citrus, peach and mangoes, little resins left, slightly candied. Similar juicy low bitterness hazy IPA flavour. Very good.
