Description
Woodman's Wild Ale specialises in beers brewed with seasonal and wild plants, with a particular interest in the use of wild yeasts and bacteria in producing sour and farmhouse ales. We brew both historical and modern styles, taking inspiration from different countries brewing traditions and our surroundings in the beautiful countryside of Cornwall.
Our beers are available in keg, cask and bottle and we also run foraging walks and brew days, as well as food and beer pairing events throughout the year

75cl bottle from the brewery. Appearance - golden amber with a big lively off-white head. Satisfying Champagne noise on opening. Nose - greenery and flowers, possibly dandelions, I suppose. Also, sweet fruit and spicy elements. Taste - sweeter than expected. Candy sugar, brown bread, dried orange. Metallic around the edges. Palate - light to medium bodied. Tangy sour and sweet in parts. Dry, tangy, finish. Overall - interesting beer.

75cl bottle from the brewery. Appearance - golden orange and hazy almost lava like. With a big lively, slightly off-white head. Nose - greeery, candied lemon, light spice. Taste - more candied lemon with orange too. White pepper. Greenery lurking. Palate - light bodied, creamy texture and a persistent finish. Overall - not sure which bits are the nettles and the beech leaves, but strong Saison yeast coming yeast character coming through alright. And very enjoyable!
