Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 2nd January 2014 Pours copper in colour, clear with an off/white head, it looks very good. Malty in the mouth but with a little metallic twang.Middling bitterness, but I guess it’s the tinny/metallic twang that I am picking up most. A6 A5 T7 P3 Ov13 3.4

Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 2nd January 2014 Pours light amber with slim white light bubbly head. Nose is a little hoppy and with some washing up liquid. Tastes good, hoppiness transfers to mouth. Plenty of citrus with lemon and a little grapefruit showing. Its pretty good, but just a little on the warm side. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at EBF XVI, 09/11/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a decent light tan covering of bubbleage that stays for the show. Nose is sweet chocolate, vanilla, nutty tones, sweet brown bread, Nutella. Taste is thinner comprising light roasted tones, cocoa, touch of dark fruit, vanilla stll discernable but thinly veiled. Light to medium bodied, way too thin and watery - not often one of my ratings dibs below 3 on the palate front! Pretty mediocre stuff ultimately let down by a thin palate.

Had this at Oxford Beer Festival, Oxford, Thursday 17th October 2013 Pours dark brown, almost black. The aroma is one thing and one thing only COCONUT, big dessicated coconut aromas waft off if this. In the mouth it is still evident of course but a sweetness with some creamy vanilla and a sprinkling of cocoa helps to calm it down a little. It’s fine, perhaps a little one dimensional but too be fair I don’t think it was trying to be anything else. A8 A3 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Hazy amber beer with a big pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and dry. Light pale malt - a little grainy - raw. Mellow orange hops, dry. Touch of tangerine. Finishes dry. So very English, just with the volume turned up a bit.
