Cask, handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 16th August 2012 5.4% Red IPA Reddy/Amber in colour with off-white head, good clarity. Touch nutty on nose and sweet malts. Taste is sweet & malty, middling but lasting bitterness, fruity with a distinct metallic edge, good but a bit confusing. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov12 3.0

Cask at the bricklayers arms, Putney. It pours near black, with a thin beige head. The nose is roasted malt, rich coffee, leather, burnt tire, cherry, blackcurrant and plum. The taste is roasted malt, charcoal, coffee, burnt toast, salted liquorice, bitter chocolate, plum, prune and blackcurrant, with a dry, roasty finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Robust, smooth and flavoursome.

Gravity dispense at Windsor Locale festival - 22/07/12. Cloudy yellow with a medium frothy head. Hops, fruit, wheat and a little yeast on the nose. Grain, wheat, hop, lemon, grass in the taste. Medium bodied and refreshing on a warm day.

Cask at The Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Copper with a scummy cream head; aroma of leafy hops and some light malts; some juicy fruit flavours, but also an immediate and sustained bitterness kicks in; leading to a dry, slightly peppery finish. Pretty good stuff.

Cask handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Tuesday 31st July 2012 Pours amber rather than gold there is a slim white head. Very malty but with a metallic twang initially; however this tinny twang soon departs. Heavy bitter toffee flavours and a goodly oomph to this. It’s pleasant, touch simple perhaps but nothing wrong with that if it is ok and this is better than ok. A6 A4 T7 P3 Ov13 3.3

Cask at Windsor Locale beer festival 2012. A golden coloured pour with a small white head on top. Hoppy, fruity aroma. Tastes hoppy, citrus fruit, quite dry, slight bitterness/sweetness. Not bad.

Cask handpump in The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 19th July 2012 Pours amber with mid sized white creamy textured head. Aroma is wet digestives and a sweet maltiness. Sweet and thick in the mouth a little chewy but with a bitterness that whilst evident is a little shy. A touch of sweet orange a little drying, thickness in mouth isn’t cloying but a bit too close to being so. Just wish this was a tad more zappy, and that they hadn’t of toned down the bitterness. however appreciate this is true to an authentic recipe. A5 A3 T5 P3 Ov10 2.6

Cask handpump in The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Thursday 19th July 2012 Pours gold with white head, nice simple golden beer with a good tang a pleasant bite. A little furry bitterness, the bittersweet balance sits slightly in favour of the sweetness but its still very good. A jolly decent beer. A7 A4 T7 P3 Ov14 3.5

Cask handpump in The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks, Wednesday 18th July 2012 Aylesbury Swifter 3.8% Bitter. Pours amber in colour with filmy white head. Really quite pronounced bitterness, little bit harsh for some but I like it. Some malt swishing around and there is little sweetness but this is soon drowned out by the bitterness. Very dry in the finish, bitter pithiness though the taste is not what I would suggest as being citric. Very good beer but I am not convinced that yhe tasting notes which suggest ’balanced bitterness’ are that accurate. A7 A4 T8 P3 Ov13 3.5

Cask, Handpump at The Hop Pole, Aylesbury, Bucks Thursday 12th July 2012 Warm gold in colour with slim white head, good temperature and in lovely nick. Aroma showing a little bit of sick. Quite bitter though there is an initial flurry if sweet maltiness, drying, tasty beer with a nod to a euro lager but more in the mould of a Golden and Pilsner hybrid, but really nice again from Aylesbury.
