Description
8 Wired is a micro brewing company based in Warkworth, New Zealand.

Our mission is to produce mind blowing beers that will wow craft beer lovers, excite fellow beer geeks and educate the mis-guided who still believe that "beer is just beer". If you want to come on this journey with us, please get in touch.

8 Wired Brewing is inspired by the legendary Kiwi can-do mentality and fellow craft brewers who have dared to challenge the masses and show us all that beer is no longer “just beer”! Known for producing “New world interpretations of old world styles” 8 Wired have multiple shades of very hoppy IPAs, Saisons, Porters and Stouts in their permanent line up and have the biggest barrel aged and sour program in the southern hemisphere.

After 5 years of contract brewing, eventually at 4 different breweries across New Zealand we now finally have our very own brewery (In Warkworth, North of Auckland) where we brew and package everything.

Bottle. Pours orange-brown with a large and long lasting white head. The aroma has notes of yeast and sour apples. The taste is vinous and gooseberry-like at first, then dry and funky, with a medium bitter hoppy and vinous aftertaste. Great stuff!

Pitch black, opaque color, beige head. Great smell of hops, chocolate, toffee, coffee, roasted and burned malts. Taste a little coffee, roasty, chocolate and lightly hops. A little weak though, little thin somehow, yet dry and also oily. Decent carbonation, medium body.

Bottle shared with staff @ Ølbutikken on October 15. Thank you for gifting and sharing the bottle with us! Sadly I can’t remember your name. Pours reddish brown with a thick white head that leaves lots of trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is pine, orange zest, earth, minerals and metal. Taste is big and rough with lots of metal, pine, resin and kiwifruit. Metal taste gets weaker as the beer gets warmer. Finish is bitter and stays on your tongue for ages.
