Bottle. Mr. Pickles, Sheffield. Very hazy, dark orange. Messy, blotchy, lasting, clingy, white head. Good looker. Nose has a load of mango flesh. Orange rind. Creamy malts. Some lemon and lime hop. Smells like a tropical fruit breakfast drink. Taste has, as you’d expect, a fruity sweetness. Turns light, orange zest and pithy bitter. Light to medium body. Foamy mouthfeel. Finish has plenty of sticky lippage, with some citrus on the close. Juicy.

Cask at the The Victoria Inn, Colchester. It pours black with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, dark chocolate, liquorice and plum. The taste is pretty bitter, rich roasted malts, charred wood, ashy, liquorice with a dry, charred finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Good hit of bitterness. Decent cda.

Cask @ Brewfactory Bar, Bradford. Cloudy amber with a creamy head. A little dense in the palate for a summer ale, it has a mild, slightly stewed fruit character.

Cask. Portland House, Sheffield. Clear, dark brown. Thin, dense, lasting, sticky, pale beige head. Nose has fruity coffee bean. Roast malt. Notes of bitter chocolate. Some fruity, piny hop. Smells more robust porter than BIPA, to me. Taste is dark chocolate, vine fruit bitter. Some lip sticking sweetness. Full body. Fairly smooth. Vinous and roast malt bitter finish. Lacking hops.
