Cask @ Nightjar, Hebden Bridge. Golden with a thick creamy head. Hoppy-sweet with the latter quite stated in a candy style, but not overbearing. It kind of supercedes a fruitiness which may otherwise be available.

Cask at Winding Wheel Beer Festival, Chesterfield 2023. Hazy orange gold colour, thin bubbly white rim and aroma of sour fruits, grain. Taste is malt, grainy, with sourish, vegetal, fruity, spicy notes and some salt. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry salty finish. Quite OK

Keg at Brewdog Doghouse Edinburgh. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of citrus and pine. Something nearly minty. Taste brings the tea and bergamot. A bit to heady and perfumed for me.

Cask at Smithfield, Derby. Pours almost black with minimal beige head. As might be expected, the aroma is mint and chocolate. In the mouth it has a creamy texture with roasted malts, mint, chocolate and liquorice. Some hints of alcoholic strength come through later – otherwise it’s dangerously drinkable ! Decent but not outstanding.

Keg at BD Basingstoke. Aroma combines Earl Grey and sweet citrus. Clear bright amber. Thin translucent white head recedes to the rim. Light-medium bitter. Distinctive Earl Grey and a big sweet sugary citrus streak. Peripheral resinous bitterness. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Flat-average carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent finish. Big floral fruity DIPA.

Near black with a frothy tan head and roasted malt on the nose, and a hint of liquorice. Roasted malt, chocolate and that hint of liquorice carry through to the taste with a dry bitterness

Hazy gold with a frothy white head and a malty, herbal aroma. In the flavour, you certainly get the bergamot and a chunk of bitterness with a solid malty backbone, with a definite hit of alcohol in the finish.
