(Can) Pours murky, lumpy deep brown with short lived tan head - although it looks rather more appealing than that sounds. Aroma is banana flavouring, dark roast malt and something else I can’t quite place, maybe vinegary or vinous. Smooth and full bodied with soft carbonation giving good mouthfeel. Taste is an interesting contrast between some soft sweet flavours and some harsher ones. There’s chocolate, banana and dark toffee sweetness plus some burnt sugar bitterness and alcohol bite. Interesting, but just a bit too odd.

21/10/2022. Can from Mr Liquor, Circular Quay enjoyed at my hotel on Norfolk Island. Pours black with a small bubbly beige head. Aroma is milky, malty, chocolate, coffee, lactose, liquorice, molasses, fruity notes. Medium sweetness and light roasted bitterness. Moderate body, light creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation.
Pleasantly fruity. Soft drink like

From a 440ml can on 12/12/2021. Pours a deep brown with a smallish head. Has a light chocolate nose, fudge and light roasty nose. On the sip, it tastes of milk and dark chocolate, with the coconut quite pronounced. Finishes with a nutty, sharp, roasty, licorice bitterness. The mouthfeel is a touch creamy, the carbonation modest. Excellent.

(Can) Pours clear red brown with large dense pale tan head. Pleasant aroma with notes of toffee and grassy hops. Medium body and smooth. Taste is disappointing; it’s rather dull. There’s some medium roast malt, no sweetness, and some unexciting hops. Didn’t do it for me - not an afternoon delight, more an evening disappointment.

(Can) Stunning looking beer - clear crimson with good pink head. Lovely aroma of raspberries with other berries and a yoghurt hint. Medium body with plenty of soft carbonation giving a great mouthfeel. Lovely taste too. Intense but so well balanced. It’s nicely sour and there’s dominant fruit, mainly raspberries. Behind this there’s more going on rather subtly. There’s hints of yoghurt, bread, funk, pepper, bubblegum. Very enjoyable.

Batch Brewing Juicy Boys DDH NEIPA 6.6% 55 IBU Tap at Yamorido, big juicy orange aroma with tropical notes. Medium to full bodied with a rich juicy flavor that is quite tropical, the Citra really shines through. Probably some of the best haze I’ve had from down under.

(Can) Pours clear pink tinted golden with short lived white head. Subtle sweet candy aroma. Light body, lively bright carbonation. Taste is unusual, quite complex and pleasant. Primarily it is nicely tart with a citrus fruity tartness. Orange and some vinous notes are apparent. There’s some subtle sweet notes with candy and cake mix / dough. There’s some bread notes in the finish. Very refreshing and unusual in a way that makes you want to have another mouthfeel to see if you can understand it better.

A pretty perfect old school WCIPA with just a hint of modernity. Heaps of grapefruit, pine and resin but without the really hard core bitterness of the classics. After a few years chasing the haze craze, this is the perfect beer to take me back to my roots. Only criticism - can needs to be bigger. Beer has inexplicably disappeared.
