Opaque colour, not much head. Dark bread, roasted aroma, some red wineous notes. Full-bodied. Sweetish, toffee, dark rye bread, portwine in the flavour. Slow sipper, sweet and rye bready.

0.44 l can from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl'. Slightly hazy, very dark ruby to black with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish, rather fruity-floral, slightly dank and a little roasty aroma of passion fruit, pineapple, mango and light coffee. Quite sweet, malty, gently bitter, slightly roasty, rather fruity-floral and a bit dank taste of passion fruit, mango, pineapple, some coffee and dark chocolate, followed by a medium long, gently roasty-bitter finish. Medium to full body, gently effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Really decent brew, quite intense, very much on the hoppy rather than the roasty side (apart from the finish).

From tap at Rock City, Amersfoort. Roasty with subtle whiskey, chocolate, some booze. Moderate sweet flavour, light to mild bitter. Medium body. Good unit with some nice whiskey notes.

From tap at Rock City, Amersfoort. Not what I expect from a 9% Black IPA. Thin, only mild roast, some fruity hoppy notes, orange. Lacks thick roast and piney hop.

From tap at Rock City, Amersfoort. On the sweet side with some dankness, citrus, soft pale malt. Finishes more sweet with a moderate bitterness. Not bad but not really my kind of IPA.

Can day 4 from Mr Hop advent calendar, from the webshop, Vernray Netherlands. Consumed at apartment in Straubing Wednesday 3rd December 2025 in the company of Jude and Baz after a lovely evening of Christmas market and Glühwein drinking. Pours hazy yellow with a mid sized white head. Really quite citric, hoppiness is apparent from the off. Nice mouthfeel, zappy but not completely doing it for me. Score 6.6

Dark brown colour, small beige head. Sweet vanilla, lactose aroma. Light-bodied. Cocoa, vanilla, lactose, some alcohol in the flavour. Meh.

Brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is dried fruits, some toffee, alcohol and vanilla. Flavour is toffee, alcohol and dried fruits, toffee and plum. Also some vanilla. Pleasant, good, even though sweet.
