Description
Wij zijn jonge ambitieuze brouwers die trots zijn op ‘onze’ stad Amersfoort. Wij brouwen gedurfde speciaalbieren die je zintuigen prikkelen. Hierbij nemen we vaak de nodige risico’s, zoals bier gerijpt op vaten. Dit bier rijpt veel langer dan gebruikelijk en de uitkomst is verbluffend. We willen de bierdrinker en onszelf blijven uitdagen. Iets wat niet lijkt te kunnen, doen we toch. Aan de andere kant hebben we veel respect voor ambacht en traditie. Daarin gaan we dan ook weer “all the way”.

Rock City Beers startte in 2014 als brouwerijhuurder. De naam van de brouwerij is een verwijzing naar de bijnaam van de stad Amersfoort: de Keistad. In 2015 werd er al ongeveer 460 hectoliter geproduceerd. In februari 2016 nam de brouwerij de licentie van Phoenix over van UDB Export. In december 2017 wordt de naam gewijzigd van Rock City Beers naar Rock City Brewing. In 2018 opent de brouwerij een brewpub in Amersfoort. Op vrijdag 2 januari 2018 werd de brouwerij officieel geopend.

Little cloudy yellow blond beer, small creamy white head, a little stable, non adhesive. Aroma: fruity, some pineapple, grains, a bit oxidized, some orange peel, a little spicy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: a bit sourish, fruity, juicy, lots of citrus, some tropical fruits, ok. Aftertaste: more sourish, fruity, citrus, juicy, soft bitterness, ok, not great.

Cloudy pale light milky yellowish beer, small creamy white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lovely, tropical fruits, citrus, grapefruit, pretty dank hops, some papaya, lovely! MF: ok carbon, medium to full body. Taste: nice, juicy, lots of tropical fruits, pretty dank, hoppy, a bit resinous. Aftertaste: slightly sweet, hoppy, good bitterness, nice one!

330ml can. Slightly cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Slightly artificial, fruity aroma, hints of peach, "Trolli Pfirsichringe", white peach, a touch of nectarine, wheaty malty background. Taste is rather neutral, wheaty malty and minimally sugary and artificial fruity, hints of peach, white peach, nectarine; slightly chalky finish.
Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Rather artificial - disappointing.

Sweet-ish, slightly artificial, fruity aroma, notes of peach, "Trolli Pfirsichringe". Taste is wheaty malty with low residual sweetness, and minimally artificially fruity, slightly dry, somehow "neutral" hoppy, diluted hints of peach and Trolli Pfirsichringe.
Watery texture, minimally dry palate, medium, prickly carbonation.
Slightly artificial fruitiness, rather anaemic overall - meh!

Bready, wheaty malty and tropical fruity, hoppy aroma, hints of white bread crust, some orange, a touch of mango. Taste is tropical fruity and minimally citrusy fruity hoppy, sweet-.ish, minimally bready, wheaty malty basis, hints of orange, a touch of mango.
Minimally creamy, watery texture, smooth and soft palate, medium, mildly prickly carbonation.
Rather monotonous, not overly refreshing - so-so.

330ml can from the Jumbo supermarket, Grote Marktstraat, Den Haag. Best before 11-25. Poured a clear medium amber colour with a short-lived, frothy white head. The aroma is malt, light toffee caramel. The flavour is moderate bitter and sweet, with a smooth, mineral, slightly watery, light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

Geprobeerd met LiekevdV, Roelzie, Koenzie, Mimi, Anne, Romy, Meindert en Tessa tijdens een Tasting met Mimi @Tom. Het is een troebel roze rood bier met een roze schuim. Het heeft een aroma van rode bessen. De smaak is vol fruitig, fris zuur met typische bosbessen smaak.

Can @ Mathews Tasting. Pours hazy yellow with large white head. Aroma is grapefruit, spruce, grass, and resin. Taste is very sweet and light to medium bitter. Body is oily with medium carbonation. Finish is long and mostly sweet with notes of orange and sugar.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Bit sweet with ripe fruits, marmalade, orange, light pine resin, malt, tropical notes. Bitterness should be more bold for a Westcoast DIPA. Body is medium. Bittersweet fruity finish.
