Bottled. Dark brown colour with a creamy small off-white head. Aroma is roasted malts, dried dark fruits as well as some mild ashy notes. Flavour is roasted malts, some chocolate, mild ripe fruits as well as some toffee and a bit ashy in the finish.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Light haze on this amber beer, good bubbly pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth and light malts, touches of caramel and toffee. A generic fruity mid, some ripe fruits. Light spice in the semi dry finish. Nice bitter.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Clear paleish gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, semi dry and has decent fine carbonation. Light malts, trace of honey. Sweet and spicy floralness. Very mild esters. Little orange peel. Dry spicy finish. Tidy.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. As ’Summer Night’ 3.8%. Almost clear deep amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Some bitterish toffee in the thin malts. Light malt cream. Pronounced berry fruits, so much so I asked the brewer if fruit had been added but he said not. Cherry and strawberry and others! Light crispy finish. Pretty tasty bitter.

Cask at the Chelmsford Summer Beer & Cider Festival, Essex. Pours golden with a nice bubbly off-white head. Aroma of fruit, grape, biscuit, and hop. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Light body, slight watery texture, average to soft carbonation. Finish is increasingly bitter.

Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light bitter with a long duration, sweet fruity - raspberry - cherry, tropical fruit juice, sweet fruit, sugary.
