Cask at the four thieves. Mid copper coloured pour with a small off white covering. Aroma is really subdued, some twigs and light spice maybe. Flavour is also subdued, light nutty malts, sandalwood and cinnamon spices. Little bit of funky orange in there as well. Palate is medium to light body with moderate cask condition. Pretty clean beer, just not much going on.

500ml bottle: drank at home on 14th Mar 2015. Poured into an Abbot Ale badged glass tankard and shared with no one. Lively bit of kit, a huge off-white billowing foam head only allowed me to fill half the glass with beer, copper hue to the clear amber body. Nice blend of flavours and well balanced with neither the hops or malts ruling the brew. Woody, nutty and tasty. Semi-sweet malty molasses vie with the mildly bittering hops for your attention and dance around the mouth in perfect harmony: a great start to my evenings mini rating session.

Keg at Ushers. Pours hazy golden with a thin white head. Aromas of oranges, resin. Oily texture.Pungent with hops, but the tar isnโt too bitter. Some malt on the finish.

Tap. Friends of Ham, Leeds. As Wylam Silver Ghost Redux. Hazy gold. Thin, white, bubbly head. Grassy and pithy with a sweet digestive biscuit background. Taste is light dry, with an astringency at the end. Ok.

Chelmsford Winter Beer Festival in KEGS. Cask. Almost opaque dark brown beer, small bubbly tan head. Palate is smooth and light with modest fine carbonation. Smooth dsrk malts, little dark chocolate. Mild toffee and dried fruits and a pinch of spice. Light semi dry finish brings a little dark fruits. More old ale than stout.
