0.44 l can from 'Slijterij Berendsen' (online), best before October 2023. Gusher! Hazy, golden amber with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly floral aroma of grains, straw and hints of apricot. Gently sweet, malty, moderately bitter, slightly fruity-floral taste of grains, straw, some dried apricot and light honey, followed by a short, gently bitter finish. Medium body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Rather a lager than a pils, at least not German-style. Overall quite enjoyable but also rather bland.

On tap at Arendsnest, pours black and out a small tan head. Aroma brings out deep roast, some hops, and gentle earthiness. Flavour is nicely bitter, with earthy coffee upfront, with a bitter finish. Nicely hopped and gently roasty. Good stuff.

Tap at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 8th February 23. Pours a clearish brown. Aroma is wheat and light caramel. Taste is a little sharp, lots of wheat character, a little spicy, hint of banana, it’s a bit strange, but alright, not quite on point for the style perhaps
