Notes from October 2012 $8.95 for a 64oz growler from New Beer. Put back that $12 bomber of barrel aged baloney kiddo. Dirty yellow garnet body. Thin, frothy, lasting, white lace. Smells of Juicy Fruit gum & grass. Mild pine, bigger citrus rind. Bit of butter. Taste is heavy on yellow grapefruit juice, bittersweet, never getting too acidic. Toasty/textured malt middle. Muted pepper. Lingering rind. Not totally crazy about hoppy rye beers. Moderate body, mellow carbonation. Well integrated alcohol. Demi sec. I would of enjoyed a bigger amount of rye, but I guess I'll just have to wait & see if Paul ever reproduces his smoked roggen to get my fix. :)

Can, from the brewery. Pours faintly cloudy copper-red with a small foamy beige head, faint caramel malt aroma, high carbonation, mildly sweet caramel malt taste, smooth thin body, long medium bitter finish. Nice and easy to drink but a bit watery.

Can, from the brewery. Pours cloudy dark yellow with a small foamy whitish head, citrus/piney aroma, low carbonation, initially sweet taste turning medium bitter with lightly piney citrus peel taste, thin body, long medium bitter finish with some throat burn at the end. Strong, a bit too sweet.

Can, from the brewery. Faintly cloudy dark orange-yellow with very small frothy off-white head, piney-coriander flavor, low carbonation, medium bitter lightly piney orange peel taste, thin body, long finish. Decent.

16oz can pours a lightly hazy, dark orange with a cap of white head.  Nose is so old school, grapefruit and hand soap and pine and perfume.  Flavor is huge with pine and grapefruit, hand soap and herbs and honey and malt.  Sweet, boozy, bitter finish.  7 3 7 3 13

Surprised to find a can in that sad back store area of Now & Later in Syracuse. Clear plastic cup in my hotel. Cascading light tan head. Dark cola, over coffee color. Very generous & obvious cocoa/Swiss Miss nose. Cocoa, dry malt, thin, raspberry is there but soft. It lingers though. Some hidden acidity peeks through, marshmallow-y flavor on the finish. Good stuff.

16 ounce can. Number one with a bullet. Hazy yellow gold pour. Volumous pillowy white head. Tropical citrus aroma. Notes of orange, lemon and lime. Some guava and stone fruit in middle. Dank citrus on backend redolent of red grapefruit and orange pith.

16 ounce can. Translucent cola brown color. Small creamy beige cap. Sweet toasted malt aroma hints at toffee and dried dark fruits. Flavor follows nose. Added notes of molasses, smokey peat and chocolate cherry candy. Mildly complex. Sticky mouthfeel. Quite tasty.
