Location: Draft at Jimmy's 43, 7/17/10
Aroma: It has a nose of grapefruit/citrus, some bready malts, caramel, and just a tiny bit of smoke
Appearance: This beer poured into the glass a golden orange color with a white head
Flavor: The taste is well-balanced, a good citrus hop bitterness balanced with some light sweetness
Palate: It is medium bodied and extremely smooth
Overall Impression: This one works really well, I was impressed, I do like some of the beers I have tried from Sixpoint, but I wasn't expecting this level of quality from a Sixpoint one-time offering.

Tap at Angels & Kings, among other places. Pours a cloudy brown with a foamy white head. Good roasted malt aroma with coffee notes. Flavor is fairly sweet, with light cocoa, roasted coffee, caramel and nuts. Light to medium in body with lively carbonation. Finishes with a nice, dry and roasty bitterness. Very sessionable, very good.

Tap at Meatopia. Pours a cloudy, amber-gold with a fluffy white head. Holds a nice, citrus hop aroma with some sweet, bready malts and earthy undertones. Flavor is mostly sweet, with some ripe, grape-like fruit notes. More maltiness, then earthy, citrusy bitterness. Medium-bodied with lively carbonation and a modestly hoppy finish. Just the faintest hints of smoke, and you’ll only notice if you try. Quite nicely balanced and tasty. Good beer.

Location: Draft from some burger place in the Meatpacking District, 6/25/10
Aroma: The nose on this one is has some spice/caramel malts and resiny hop notes.
Appearance: Pours a hazy, creamy, amber color with a creamy off-white head.
Flavor: The taste is balanced between the caramel malts, spice, and resiny hops.
Palate: The body has a creamy feel, and is light-medium, leaning toward the medium side.
Overall Impression: Hey, look at that, rater #100! It's always randomly cool when stuff like that happens. I'm a little surprised I've never rated this one, but I'm almost positive that I have had it a few times before. Sixpoint seems to be like that for me, I feel like I've had a bunch of their beers, and then half the time I check, I've never rated it before. Anyway, a pretty nice beer overall.

Location: I had this twice in the last couple months:
On Cask at Swift Hibernian Lounge, 4/24/10
Sampled at the NY Brewfest on Governor's Island, 6/19/10
Aroma: The nose has some rye to it, earth, caramel notes, some hoppy notes, citrus, spice, and grains
Appearance: This one pours a caramel color into the glass
Flavor: The taste is relatively dry, not too much sweetness, some earthy and grainy notes
Palate: A medium bodied beer, the mouthfeel is sort of cereal-like
Overall Impression: This is a pretty decent rye ale. A good feel to it, and it's pretty drinkable. It has that good cereal-like feel to it, which works pretty well with the flavors. I actually gave it a slightly higher score on tap then on cask, but both were fairly similar score-wise.

Tap at Hot Bird, Brooklyn ($6):Pours a hazy bronze color with a thin white head. Aroma of rye, some sugar, citrus fruits, and beautiful hops hops hops. Upon tasting it, there is are huge doses of hops and rye delivered straight to your face. A good amount of bitterness that culminates in a moderate aftertaste. Almost lemony at times. This is pretty much a slightly altered IPA with a whole bunch of rye in it, but that is most definitely a good thing.

Big thanks to MCLK for opening this 22oz bottle. It pours hazy near muddy amber with thin off white head. The aroma is sweet with crusty caramel malts, spices, spicy hops and some earthy hops. The taste has sweetness from intense maltiness and then moving into spicy and earthy hops. The malts have that aged crustiness to them. It has a nice aged barleywine feel to it but remains a touch on the bright side.

Location: Draft at the Brass Rail, 5/19/10
Aroma: Melon, peach, resin, pine, crystal malt, floral notes
Appearance: Hazy orange, white head, lots of white lace
Flavor: Bread and crystal malts with a crisp, floral, hoppy, bitter finish
Palate: Mouthfeel is dry, medium body, finish is very crisp
Overall Impression: I'm knocking off stuff I can't believe I haven't rated before tonight, not intentionally, but that what they've got... This is a good IPA. I like the pronounced, crisp finish, it works well here.
