Keg @ Bottle & Barrel, Aberystwyth after a 50 mile bike ride in the Welsh hinterlands. Misty yellow appearance, white froth atop. Aroma presents vibrant fruity guava. Taste is crisp with a gentle sour edge, good guava presence, very refreshing and hitting the spot nicely. Good fruit gose.

500 ml bottle. Pours a dirty brown with full head. Aromas of pine resin, grass, sweat and biscuity malts. Flavors of grass, tea, and pine on wet toasted malts. Is this old? One of those tagged labels; hard to say if BBD is April 20 or 19 Picked up at Wallys in Cardiff.

Keg at Pipes Brewery. It pours cloudy rose pink with a dissipating white head. The aroma is sweaty, rather savoury, salty, seaweed, cranberry, green, quite herbal, basil and coriander. The taste is dry, tart, quite savoury in character, salty, cranberry, raspberry, sea water, lactic, seaweed, seltzer and minerals with a puckering finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Maybe a bit too savoury, but fun nonetheless.

Keg at Pipes Brewery. It pours clear yellow golden with a small white head. The aroma is fairly subdued.... toasty grain, bread malt, twits of citrus, hay and light flora vibes. The taste is crisp, dry, touch of bitterness, toasty grain, subdued citrus notes, grass and a bit of spice. Finis is dry. Light body and moderate carbonation. I appreciate it is low abv, but it lacks a bit of punch and comes across a bit bland. Fair.

Keg at Pipes, Cardiff. It pours jet black wit ha decent beige head. The aroma is failry subdued and malt driven, roasty, malt loaf, rye bread, treacle and toast. The taste is fairly similar actually... malt - drive, definite malt loaf character, roasty, toast, coffee grounds, underlying sweetness, spice and a bit of wet cardboard. Medium body and fine carbonation. Not a patch on the regular kolsch in my opinion.

Keg at Mill Hill Cask and Coffee, Enderby. Deep, mid-to dark gold, slightly hazy with a ring of white head. Slightly smoky aroma, lots of malt, a little bit metallic. Smoky taste with some chewy yeast. Lots of flavour but there's a very short finish. A wisp of astringency in the fleeting aftertaste. A little bit homebrew-y but none the worse for it.

Keg at the Clarendon, Leamington Spa. Served far too cold for the style, had to warm the glass in my hands for some time before the flavours emerged. A hazy amber brew with a thin white head. Caramel dominates, but the vegetable pumpkin note is still obvious which I'm not convinced is a good thing. The spices (cinnamon and clove?) are there but are possibly a tad too restrained. It's a bit thin. Overall it's just a bit meh. It would undoubtedly have been better on cask, which would have given it the fuller body (and less icy serving temperature!) that autumnal beers need.
