Description
Bevog microbrewery is the fruit of inquisitiveness and aspiration towards discovering new beer-drinking experiences; it is the result of enthusiasm, love and zeal. We brew beers with character and soul. Our goal is to transcend the limits of the known and ordinary. We have had enough of a monotonous beer offer and the belittling of beer. Beer can be and is much more than that. Bevog brewery is dedicated primarily to beers of top fermentation, more commonly known as ales. The ales we brew basically originate from England. In the last few decades this highly diverse type of beer has been given greater breadth, a wider range of flavors, has been shifting the boundaries of individual styles and becoming more and more popular around the world. It is gaining popularity not only with beer lovers and beer drinkers, but in general with gourmets, top chefs and people who are always willing to explore new flavours and experiences and who care about what they ingest.

Despite the English roots of ales, we here at Bevog are very creative and do not stick to the established norms. We design our beers in our own way, the way we know is right. We choose a beer style, take it apart, add a broad spectrum of gained knowledge, ideas and views, put it back together and polish it into our own beer, which is not rigidly cemented in the prescribed frames of an individual style. When creating recipes, we strive towards perfection and above all refuse all compromise, which is otherwise sadly in abundance in modern mass production.
All of the above has been confirmed by the received awards and prizes, and above all by the many super pleased drinkers of our beer.
Cheers!

0.33l bottle at Cameral Beer Fest in Koper. Hazy dark orange color with small creamy off-white head and average visible carbonation. Aroma is moderate malty, mild fruity, but mainly heavy hoppy with resin and citrus notes. Taste starts with moderate sweet maltiness, then followed by light fruity acidity and finished with heavy spicy bitterness. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Very good balanced ale, flawless...

Bitter finish, grapefruit, malts, honey, tropical fruits and pineapple. Lovely beer, experience might be a bit enhanced by good weather and great company.

Bottled, 0.33l. Murky dark brown, almost black, color with large creamy light brown mostly lasting head, fair lacing and many tiny yeast particles. Aroma of heavily roasted malt, smoke, strong coffee, dark chocolate, mild caramel, light resiny hops and mild vegetables. Taste starts light sweet malty with heavy roasty and smokey notesy, then followed sourish grainy. Finish is moderate to heavy bitter, aftertaste is long spicy roasted and with some bitterness, too. Full body, creamy texture and soft carbonation in palate. Excellent complementary addition to smoked sausage or salami, but would be very careful when combining it with smoked bananas...

Ogi’s. Black tinged with amber, something like extremely dark amber. Who cares. Lasting off white/beige head that wnet away slowly. Smoked ham aroma, coffee to bacon. The taste is... wow. Smoked chocolate if such a thing existed, some bitterness. Fresh, nicely smooth and a bunch of other minor details that I can’t decypher. Lovely lovely stuff. This Slovenian venture in Austria rocks both quality and design wise. Wish there were more micros like that. Or any like that in Croatia.

On tap at Ljubljanski Festival Piva, Slovenia. Hazy dark golden coloured, small white head, mild fruity nose. Quite strong sweet malty fruity taste with notes of hops and honey. Sweetish dry sticky finish. Other Bevog beers are/were (much) better.

16/04 Marko’s 0.33 l bottle, thanks for sharing! It poured pitch black body with big brown head. Very nice coffee, chocolate, nuts and slightly alkaline wood aroma. Flavor was slightly sweet and nicely tart, dominated by coffee that carried that distinct dry/acidic note, chocolate, chicory, toffee, while wood is obvious here as well although not intruding. Full, rather creamy body with long, slightly sweet and acidic coffee and chestnut finish. Very pleasant oatmeal stout indeed, although a bit less nutty than they usually get. Nice surprise!
