Description
Bevog microbrewery is the fruit of inquisitiveness and aspiration towards discovering new beer-drinking experiences; it is the result of enthusiasm, love and zeal. We brew beers with character and soul. Our goal is to transcend the limits of the known and ordinary. We have had enough of a monotonous beer offer and the belittling of beer. Beer can be and is much more than that. Bevog brewery is dedicated primarily to beers of top fermentation, more commonly known as ales. The ales we brew basically originate from England. In the last few decades this highly diverse type of beer has been given greater breadth, a wider range of flavors, has been shifting the boundaries of individual styles and becoming more and more popular around the world. It is gaining popularity not only with beer lovers and beer drinkers, but in general with gourmets, top chefs and people who are always willing to explore new flavours and experiences and who care about what they ingest.
Despite the English roots of ales, we here at Bevog are very creative and do not stick to the established norms. We design our beers in our own way, the way we know is right. We choose a beer style, take it apart, add a broad spectrum of gained knowledge, ideas and views, put it back together and polish it into our own beer, which is not rigidly cemented in the prescribed frames of an individual style. When creating recipes, we strive towards perfection and above all refuse all compromise, which is otherwise sadly in abundance in modern mass production.
All of the above has been confirmed by the received awards and prizes, and above all by the many super pleased drinkers of our beer.
Cheers!

330 ml bottle from Brot & Spiele, Graz, had on 22 Dec. 2013.
Black body, with some red reflections and a medium, stable, creamy, beige/brown head.
Aroma of dark chocolate, smoke, caramel, some dark fruits.
Tastes of smoke, dark chocolate, coffee, brown sugar, toast, little fruityness.
Medium mouthfeel, with a creamy texture and a long smokey/bitter finish.
8/4/8/4/16
330 ml bottle, 2 years old, had on 10 Nov. 2015.
Dark brown body, with some red reflections and a medium, creamy, lacing, coffee-colored head.
Aroma of smoked wood, bacon, dark and dried fruits, caramel, some dark chocolate.
Tastes of ash, wood, bacon, bitter chocolate, some cocoa powder, some coffee, subtle dark fruits.
Medium, creamy mouthfeel, with a soft carbonation.
Finishes very smokey/ashy, almost cigarette like, dry, roasty, wooden.
8/4/7/3/14
This is definitely better fresh, when it’s more varied. The two years old bottle is much more dominated by the smoke, especially in the finish. But this was just an experiment and the beer shouldn’t be judged on a bottle about 1.5 years past the bb date. So overall a characterful Smoked Porter, with really interesting notes from both parts, the Porter and the smoke.

Sehr empfehlenswert.

Draught at Pivomanija beer festival in Ajdovscina. Pours almost black with small fully diminishing brownish head. Aroma of heavy roasted malt, coffee, caramel, chocolate and oats. Taste starts with rich and sweet roasted malt, coffee, caramel and dark chocolate, following is sour grainy with smooth mouthfeel and moderate bitter finish. Full body, creamy texture and average carbonation in palate. Smooth and tasty...
