Bath Ales
Commercial Brewery
in Bristol,
Bristol,
England 🏴
Owned by
St. Austell Brewery
Associated Venue: Graze Bar, Brewery & Chophouse (Bath Ales)
Established in 1995
Moved to Siston Lane, Bristol in the summer of 1999.
Having outgrown these premises a further relocation to their current site at Units 3-7 Caxton Industrial Estate, Crown Way, Warmley, Bristol was carried out during March 2004.
A 50 barrel brewplant is used. A small on-site brewery was installed at their new (2013) Graze pub in Bath and was used to brew Platform 3 beer (originally 5.7%, latterly 4.5%) and the occasional special.
The beers branded as Beerd were from a small-batch plant within the main brewery at Warmley.
Mid 2016 brewery bought out by St. Austell brewery, with the inevitable cessation of the Beerd brand and the brew plant in Bath.
Production of Bath Ales cask range has been reduced to just Gem, with the spare capacity used by St. Austell for overflow production of Tribute and other St. Austell beers.
Since late 2025 Bath Ales became just a brand of St. Austell

50cl bottle from Aldi, Bracknell. A pale amber pour with a tight cream coloured head; grapefruit aroma; others have described the taste as custard and I have to agree - an intriguing blend of custard and grapefruit; followed by a pleasant bitter citrus finish. Interesting.

Danke an minutemat. Rauchig alkoholischer Geruch. Intensiver, torfig malziger Beginn, trocken, geringe Karbonisierung. Rauchig, erstaunlich süffig, feine Herbe, der Alkohol bleibt gut versteckt. Intensiv, der Hintergrund wirkt aber schwach und kann mit de, intensivem Torfaroma nicht mithalten. Nett! 10/10/10/11/12/11

Bottle at home from Tesco. A fruity, surprisingly rich and very smooth English and new word hybrid pale ale. Very tasty, but I preferred the Venus & Mars from the previous night.

Bottle. Pours unclear deep brown with small off-white head. Nose: faint roastiness, coffee, toasted malts. Light body. Dry taste. Malty. Roast & coffee. Low bitterness. Very drinkable but no solid body.

Bottle from Tesco. Deep gold in colour, with next to no head. Some citrus notes, a vague spiciness, crisp malts and a moderately bitter finish. Fine.
