Bottle picked up at Independant Spirit, Bath and consumed at Cropredy ’Fairports Annual Reunion’ Festival, Cropredy, Oxon, Friday 8th August 2014 Pours black with that distinctive germolene and elastoplast nose. It is smooth, rich, roasty with a little liquorice and then the Germolene just ruins it for me, in fact it destroys it in the nose and mouth. If it wasn’t for the fact that I am not so struck on particularly heavily Islayed stouts I might have liked it (I liked the Speyside version) For some reason when I looked at my notes in the field I was looking at a higher mark but on reflection I realised why should I, it weren’t my thing. Consumed at Cropredy ’Fairports Annual Reunion’ Festival, Cropredy, Oxon, Friday 8th August 2014 Pours black this is smooth and really quite decent, tasty, even a little toasty very drinkable for the abv. A soft sweet seam of liquorice peeps up above the barrel ageing which lends its whisky warmth to proceedings. I might just be getting a hint of vanilla, but not for long as this. roasty but not harsh, I like this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
