Gravity cask at the at the Bishop’s Stortford Beer Festival 2015, Royal British Legion. Dark reddish brown, translucent, with a beige head. Light aroma of Ovaltine, biscuit, vanilla. Pleasant sweet taste which is tempered by the right amount of barely there-buttering hop. Hints of milk chocolate and malt. Longer finish that you’d expect from such a simple beer. Enjoyable if forgettable mild. Too ’easy drinking’ for my taste.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2014 - London. Pours dark brown with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is dark malts, beat-up leather, earth and cocoa. Light sweet flavor, earthy, with some bitter cocoa and cutting roast. Light to medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly drying on the finish with dried and aged dark fruits, dirt, toasted leaves. Respectable.
