Description
Tiny Rebel was founded in Newport in 2012 by brothers-in-law Bradley Cummings and Gareth Williams. Williams had learned to homebrew with his grandfather, and introduced his brother-in-law to the hobby. After brewing in Cumming's father's garage for a number of years, the pair decided to make their hobby their profession. They rented an industrial unit in the Maesglas area of the city.
The company opened their £2.6million brewery and bar in Rogerstone on 1 July 2017.

Keg at the Hanging Bat. Pours hazy yellow-gold with a thin white head. Big hop aromas, with a touch of malt sweetness. Flavour delivers and is well balanced. Good beer, but I could have sworn it was more a US pale ale.

Cask-conditioned at Beer’d, Bristol 11/8/2013. Slightly hazy gold with a frothy white head. Big, juicy, tropical fruit and mandarins, crisp, slightly dusty malts and a fruity, dry finish. Excellent.

Small offwhite head. Slightly hazy yellow body. Faint floral fruity aroma with marmalade notes. Dry-sweet resiny floral orangey taste with dusty gooseberry notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dry resiny orange marmalade aftertaste with gooseberry and flower notes. Really nice. Full of flavour, yet highly drinkable. (0.284l cask at House of Trembling Madness, York. Billed as "Billabong Aussie Pale Ale", 4.6%. I assume it’s the same.)

Hazy dark amber beer, good off white head. Sweet caramel nose! Softish palate, light. Creamy malt with a little caramel but nowhere as much as the snout would infer! Light pine with an unusual undertone of red berry fruits. Finishes semi dry with more light pine and lightly sour caramel. Nice pine!

Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy off white head. Palate is crisp and a little dry. Minerals. Hops are fresh and mildly fruity, little pith. Fairly peel - bitter. Good malt base with a whisper of toffee and mellow smoke. Finishes crisp and dry with lingering peel - bitterness.

Hand-pulled half-pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 1st Aug 2013. Light golden body with a thin white head. Floral hop nose and taste with a citrus feel to the finish. Body didn’t seem right for a 4.6% ABV brew, a little thin and watery: not the Rebel’s best beer. Refreshing enough, but not my sort of beer.

Cask at CASK. It pours clear golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is earth, wood, wood polish, hay and floral. The taste is floral, straw, dough, light toast, touch of sweetness, pine and resin with a dry, bitter finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Good balance and high drinkablity.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico, 26/07/13. Very dark mahogony brown with a medium sized light tan head. Nose is pine, light roast, hops, bitter grapefruit, tropical fruit sundae, light charring. Taste comprises light roast, hop bitterness, tangy grapefruit, pine, grass, dark malt. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with some hop bitterness. Ok CDA but no world beater - not up to the same level as their IPA’s and APA’s.
