Olie and Marion started Toolmakers Brewery in the old Varney tool making factory adjacent to Rutland Road and the Forest pub (see advert) early in 2013.

Half cask at The Forest. Near black pour, creamy beige head. Light roasty aroma, licorice. Taste is ashy, smoky, woody, light sweetness, burnt toast. Nice body with lingering smoke on the palate.

Cask at Kelham Island, Sheffield. Poured a clear dark brown with a frothy off white head. The aroma is smoky malt, creamy caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter with a light watery charcoal roasty malt light hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
