Description
Sudwerk Brewing Co. was founded in 1989 by two German descendants determined to share the high-quality, familiar taste of true German lagers. Since then, we have been relentlessly pushing the boundaries of traditional lager making for 30 years; pioneering the craft beer industry along the way.

We choose to brew lagers not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because the end result will serve to refresh and bring the best of our energies and skill, because the challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to drink, with others too.

Our beer making processes are rooted in traditional German brewing methods but blended with modern, West-Coast craft beer practices. We are not afraid of the time consuming and difficult nature of lagers but instead find it to be an exhilarating challenge. We showcase clean, crisp yeast character, powerful flavor-packed hop bombs, and beautiful malt backbones; all on a lager frame. This is not the dull can of lager beer you think you know.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours translucent gold with a nice white head. Aroma of mixed fruits - melon may be the standout. Med body. Flavor is quite fruity - but there's an earthiness too. Flavor I'll pick melon, pineapple, pine. Somewhat juicy. Rather dry. Nicely bitter. Quite refreshing.

Can from Cap Tap. Pours clear coppery gold with a large, frothy off-white head. (swirling the can didn't add haze) Aroma of green melon and other tropical fruits. Med body. Fruity. Bitter. Fairly dry. More than moderately hoppy. Gets more and more bitter. Good drink.

Pour is a bright hazy orange with a large white head. Aroma is a little orange juice with some honey malt. Flavor is a slight bittering hop with some cotton candy like sweetness after the swallow. It's hazy but not nearly hoppy enough.

Pour is a clear fizzy gold with a large white head. Aroma is a decent fresh lager malt with some creaminess from the yeast. Flavor is again a very clean lager malt with some toasted bread. It is a bit watery but with this style that is ok. Prefect for what the name implies. After yard work refresher.

Can from Corti Bros. Pours coppery gold (or golden copper) with a foamy near-white head. Aroma of guava and citrus (orange?). Med + body. Flavor is slightly roasty caramel support; a lot of hop. Going with citrus (grapefruit) and guava. Not that the guava dominates, but it seems to hang in. Seems dry to me. Bitter in a non-harsh way, but very bitter. Maybe there's a slight heat burn. Delicious stuff. Lager the way it should be

Can from Cap Tap. Pours dark hazy redberry - almost plum with a very pink head. Aroma of boysenberry with a hint of sourness. Med body or nearly. Flavor is kettle sour - earthy boysenberry. Very much a fresh fruit thing. But like not entirely ripe fruit. Quite drinkable.
