Bottle at GBBF. Thick, yellowish, creamy, lacing, frothy and very stable head over a deep orange blonde, almost amberish beer, darker and more red than average for the style - red IPA? Aroma of strawberry, lots of tangelo, pine resin, grapefruit peel, passionfruit, green tea, mango, caramel, toasted pine nuts, baked banana. Cleanly fruity and malty inset, bit toasted and biscuity like the amber colour already announced, fizzy but smooth with exotich fruits retronasally as well as a deep grapefruity and piney hop bitterness, very long, very aromatic but harshly bittering as well, resiny with some minerally saltiness, abrasive, very herbal and lasting for a long time. Quite an agressive IPA, but I liked it.

Drinking this mostly as a chaser to that nasty smoked ale just before - like seriously, that stuff just does not jive with my goods. I gotta tell ya. This has a very nice head- strong and sitting on top of a decent brown body with no carbonation. Aroma is sweet hops, typical hops, decent hops, American hops; yeah, there’s no layering here but it screams craft beer IPA like al the rest. Flavour is a decent balanced mix of hops with a hint of malt. Just okay, well made, but hard to pick out of a crowd.

Red waxed-dipped bomber, signed. Mine says Defacto 1594. I’m not sure what 1827 or 1594 signify, unless they’re bottle numbers. Aroma is strong in wood (smells like freshly chopped wood), caramel, vanilla, coconut, raisin, cinnamon, whiskey. Pours black with brown edges with a medium tan head with good retention; laces a little. Taste is bittersweet, roasty, chocolaty, along with all other aroma descriptors. Body is a little thinner than expected. A little harsh, but it tastes pretty good.

Bomber. Interesting, a stout blended in with an IPA, both barrel aged. Pours a dark mahogany color with a medium beige head. A big nose, vanilla, sandalwood, some chocolate. The flavor is mostly dusty chocolate and big vanilla whiskey, some light tropical elements try to get in. More like a barrel aged stout. Some green resin, but more chocolate and ash. Smooth. Very nice.
