Description
Congleton raised Nick Calvert set up Front Row Brewing as an artisan bespoke brewery in 2012. Alongside his striving business in textile printing he wanted to use his passion in real ale to open his own brewery. As a ex prop in rugby player for Congleton and Sandbach rugby clubs it was only fitting that the theme of the brewery to follow suit.

Hand pulled half pint in the Pheasant on 28th July 2026. Clean and clear light golden body, white crust on top. Didn't take to this at all, too much citrus/dry bitterness for me. Drank along side Love Rat (Rat Brewery), which was much more to my taste.

Despite the beer name Sir Billy Boston remains the only Rugby League Knight. It will happen though. This session ale is golden-blonde, hoppy in the main with a sweetness in aroma, and some in aftertaste. Easy-drinking.

An apt rugby themed ale given it's the Super League Grand Final just down the road tomorrow. Dark brown in colour with plenty of caramel in aroma, a little more watery in taste but still dominant.
