Pretty amber with beige head, good fluff that holds its own....wonderful caramel malt among, very exciting, substantial body for an ale, but a thinness at the same time...a fresh flavorful creation with depth....a caramel characteristic with a bitter touch...a delicate sweetness that lingers on the lips

Thanks to beerbill for this - semi-cloudy, orange-gold color, with a minimal head - far too much clarity for the style - quite a sweet, honey-like aroma, with strong coriander, orange peel, a hint of ginger (the lime leaves are surprisingly evident) - thankfully, the flavor isn’t as sweet as the aroma suggests - fairly spicy and herbal, and a light honey flavor couples with this to make the beer taste tea-like at times - spicy and peppery through the middle - light wheaty flavor and a hint of citrus - not very witbier-like - I’d call it more of a belgian pale - either way it’s not terribly impressive, but I’d drink it again.

Thanks to beerbill for this one - semi-cloudy, copperish beer, with a substantial, but short-lived head - strong fruitiness in the aroma, with notes of peach, apricot, mango - strong belgian yeastiness as well - the flavor is not as sweet as the aroma suggests, but the peach and apricot are pretty apparent and quite earthy (rinds/peels and all) - light tartness compliments the fruit flavors well - light spices and medium yeasty flavors on the back end - fairly light and refreshing for its strength, but lacking complexity.

12 oz Bottle from Alldaydrinker; Thanks Jeff; Nose of yeast, cloves, strawberries and a hint of vanilla; red oxide colored body with a medium beige head; flavor very fruity with berries (almost as strong as a fruit beer), sweetness, light spices, with a little peppery spice in the finish! Alcohol completely covered making it quite drinkable. Wish I had more than one!

Bottle drunk on 7/8/07, at about 1 year of age.
Dark chocolate body is medium-clear, with a medium-tan head atop that is one finger high and slowly fading to cover, leaving moderate lacing.
All sorts of chocolate notes in the nose hold back much of the roast, while juicy, green hops add a pleasant complexity, despite being your average C-hop and aged 1 year. Some peanut brittle-like oxidation is noted on the end, but remains the only real sign of age, while some very dark coffee notes slowly give way to a more abundant fruitiness, as it warms. Low alcohol warmth and though it is a lighter, more manageable version, I dont think it suffers from this fact and dosent seem thin or washed out in the nose. No flaws that I could find, that’s certainly something new for this brewery and probably points to more aging for their beers being needed.
Chocolate and biscuits collide with a very sweet, marshmallow-vanilla creaminess, while bitter hops and bitter roast are soaked up well by this maltiness and downplayed by the low carbonaion (though it isnt too low). German chocolate cake, splashed with some old coffee about sums up the flavor, but hops continuously evolve and work with some of the fruitiness that emerges with warming to create a modest complexity. Alcohol is not perceived, no flaws. Pretty impressive for a 12 oz, filtered, non-bottle conditioned bottle of its age from this brewery. As with the aroma, there’s only a small amount of flabby, peanut-brittle-like oxidation. Alot like 2 Bros. Northwind Impy in its mellow presentation, though I think this one adds a bit more bitterness.

Encouraging appearance shows a large, densely-formed light-tan head that cascades in to a deep peach-bronze body, with medium clarity (despite a careful pour). Lacing is moderate, and retention is strong.
Sweeter, American ale yeast-like esters show lots of red fruits giving a notion of strawberry jam, apricot tarts and with more of the expected peach and banana coming through on the end. Not overdone with clove, and actually quite apparent is the pils malt, giving off notes of vanilla and honey which help to sooth the abundant esters. Decidedly American, with the esters being very up front and no real depth or interesting/unusual aspects in the yeast department. But that’s not to say it’s done poorly, and it’s the first one in this series that I didnt detect DMS. Alcohol dries out the finish somewhat, with light breadiness and caramel making a minor appearance.
Sweet, but well-balanced flavor contains tons of peaches, apricots and bananas up front. Toasty malt character enlivens things further, adding some dryness and bittersweet character. Surprisingly soft mouthfeel, thanks to them actually leaving some yeast in the bottle for a change. Carbonation is very low, but fairly tight. Loses some steam with warming and some sloppy sugars build up, with too much peachy stickiness and some thinning as well. Alcohol noteable but not overdone. Phenols are relatively light, with white pepper lying underneath and adding to the dryness. Not overhopped either. Pretty standard, American rendition.
