Description
We are a Cornish Craft Beer brewery, based on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Using our own Spring water, combined with the finest modern hops to create punchy powerful beers. We've been brewing since 2008 and have exported to half a dozen countries.

Penpont is a microbrewery which produces cask ales and bottled beers, using a mixture of modern and traditional British brewing techniques.

Between 2016 and 2019 the name Altarnun Brewing was used.

Can. Clear gold/orange with a small white head. Aroma of citrus fruits, honey and melons. Taste of oranges, melons, malts and honey. Low bitterness. Medium carbonation. Refreshing. It’s alright but also quite unremarkable.

Bottle from Purely Cornish. It's simply called 'Shipwreck' but is the same strength. Appearance - deep golden with a light hop haze. Big fluffy white head. Nose - pine and grapefruit. A bit bready. Taste - a bit more malt bag this time, lacking the zest and pine of the nose. Really not much going on apart from malt or general cereal notes. Palate - creamy texture, light bodied. Dry finish. Overall - better nose than taste.

Bottle from Purely Cornish. Appearance - amber with a big fluffy off white head. Nose - Bourbon creams. Taste - more chocolate and biscuits. Hazelnuts at the very back. Palate - crunchy and medium bodied. Dry, roasty finish. Overall - like it.

Third by cask, listed with 6.5 % abv, second day of GBBF Winter 20, Elgar Bar. Shared with Finn. Clear mahogany coloured body, covering beige head, dotted spots on the nose. Inviting smell of mid-sweet malts, lightly spiced. Mixed taste of raisin, nuts, and caramel malts, added by a careful spicy bite. Malt-driven end, dry and not overly sweet. Fits the season. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).
