We are a Cornish Craft Beer brewery, based on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Using our own Spring water, combined with the finest modern hops to create punchy powerful beers. We've been brewing since 2008 and have exported to half a dozen countries.
Penpont is a microbrewery which produces cask ales and bottled beers, using a mixture of modern and traditional British brewing techniques.
Between 2016 and 2019 the name Altarnun Brewing was used.

[ As Penpont Creation Pale Ale ].Clear medium yellow color with a small to average, frothy - fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, sweet malt, pale malt, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration, fruity, sweet malt, pale malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20150811]

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear yellow-gold with a frothy off-white head that settles into a cream. Lots of bread in the nose, moderate oxidation, caramel, ripe orange, crackers. Medium sweet flavor with rich marmalade, toffee, more orange, sugary white bread, light pine needle bitterness. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation; a little chewy. Gooey and sticky-sweet on the finish, with more ripe citrus fruits, hearty pale bread, mellow piney bitterness, some creamy toffee undertones. Interesting stuff, really. Not bad at all.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Lightly hazy gold beer, small white head. Palate is light and fairly crisp. Clean pale malts, honey. Good marmalade hops, some lemon. Light dry finish.

Cask at gbbf 2015 day 4. Aroma is spicy hop, little fart, grainstore. Light yellow coloured pour with a fleeting white head. Flavour is composed of light straw, grain store, hedgerow hop, decent English yeast notes. Palate is light and good cask condition. OK.

[ As Penpont Beast of Bodmin Moor Reserve ].Clear medium to dark amber color with a small, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light roasted, light moderate hoppy, licorice notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and light modrate bitter with a average to long duration, pale malt, brown malt - toasted. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20140814]

Pale in colour. A light beer with a citrus bitterness from Cascade hops. Amber with a decent, off-white, head. Floral hops, some stone fruits, biscuity malts and a moderately bitter finish. Good.
