We are a Cornish Craft Beer brewery, based on the edge of Bodmin Moor. Using our own Spring water, combined with the finest modern hops to create punchy powerful beers. We've been brewing since 2008 and have exported to half a dozen countries.
Penpont is a microbrewery which produces cask ales and bottled beers, using a mixture of modern and traditional British brewing techniques.
Between 2016 and 2019 the name Altarnun Brewing was used.

Bottle from Liquor Barn, Burnaby
Copper color, bright, clean, with small head. Aroma of old beer, wet paper. Some toasted malts, caramel flavor, moderate sweetness, same feeling of old oxidized beer, good bitterness level, a bit fruity (maybe the wine barrel).
Not very good, delivers strange impressions, not an Old Ale, not making the best out of a wine cask either.

Pours copper orange with a small head. Aroma of metallic notes, caramely malts, some spices and toffee. Taste is sweet, syrupy and caramely with loads of toffee, hints of metallic notes and spices. Finish is heavy, stuffy and sweet with some toffee and caramel. Quite unbalanced and messy.

From cask. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and light toasted malty. Friuity, dry and slight soapy hoppy flavoured. Bitter and slight dry finish.

Cask at the Prince Albert, Ely. Light to mid-gold, plentiful carbonation for a cask ale. Small white head which leaves lots of lacing. Light but sharp grapefruit aroma with an earthy note. Hint of bubblegum. Simple sweet fruity taste with a slight and short bittersweet finish. Weak body as is often the case with low-ABV cask ales. All in all this is a pleasant little bugger.

Manchester Beer Festival 2015. Chestnut coloured with a small amber glow and a small head. Has a woody, earthy floral nose with a more nutty flavour.

Bottle from the Bottle Bank. Appearance - dark brown with some red chinks. Nice fawn head. Nose - bread, brown sugar and raisins. Taste - more fruit with a dark chocolate note with hazelnuts and some booze. Dry burnt bread finish. Palate - medium bodied with a dry middle section and a fairly pleasant dry malty finish. Overall - interesting but it didn’t blow me away.
