Poured up on tap at the brewpub, into the massive birthday mug, where it exhibits a near clear amber colored body that supports a nice tan head that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The modest aroma offers up some lightly roasted malts, a bit of nuttiness and then a spicy hop note in the background. The taste delivers full up maltiness that’s sweet, lightly roasty and a tad nutty. Behind the malts are assertive spicy hops that keep this balanced and delicious.

Draught @ CBC 2015. Pours viscous black with a small mocha head that leaves some thick lacing and trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and spicy with roasted malts, dark bread, burnt caramel, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, smoked chilli, cinnamon, leather, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter, malty and spicy. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny atringent, slightly spicy hot and near full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with roasted malts, caramel, toffee, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, smoked chilli, cinnamon, allspice, moist soil and hints of alcohol. Good but a bit unbalanced in the spice. --- Beer merged from original tick of American Presidential Stout 2019 on 11 May 2019 at 13:13 - Score: 8

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a crystal clear copper body that has gold hues and supports a thin off white head. The aroma is pulsing with fresh malt nuanced lime juice and flowery floral hops with faint tropical fruity hop notes in the background. The taste is soft to start where the palate is sacked by robust levels of juicy limes, malt sweetened lime peel and a wide load of floral hops. It gets a little bitter to midway with mild pineapple and grapefruit like hops but the lime and floral notes give up very little ground. Wow. This is a crazy lime and floral hop forward beer.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a clear pure gold body that supports a thin white head that leaves behind some spotty lacing. The aroma offers up full tangerine citrus hops, a dash of mango as well as a bit of a resiny hoppiness that’s sort of pine hop like. The taste starts kind of bright with tangerine and near grapefruit like citrus hop bitterness and then it slides into more of the malt base as well as a pleasing thin mango juiciness. This only gets better as it warms. Lovely easy drinking brew that isn’t too heavy or juicy but delivers just the right amount of hop bitterness.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits cool looking opaque gold and copper body that supports a white head. The aroma offers up banana, some spices, apricot cotton candy, pears and yeastiness. The taste delivers yeasty spices, some fruity pear and apricot. It picks up bay leaf spices to midway that really pulls this together and keeping it interesting. This would be really fun if it was under 6% and a lot drier.

Keg at the kings arms buckfast street. They are really struggling to shift this keg. Translucent golden brown coloured pour with a lasting off white frothy head. Aroma holds, sweet toffee, oak and vanilla with a little calvados, wood, america oak. Flavour is composed of rounded malts, toffee and spicy oak, vanilla and some creamy alcoholic pudding. Maybe a little warming calvados in the finish. Slightly tangy finish. Palate is medium sweet, highish frothy carbonation slight oak tannin the finish. Interesting beer.

Poured up on tap at the brewpub where it exhibits a near clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a thin off white head. The aroma offers up an inviting mango and cantaloupe fruitiness with a thin yeasty Brett weaved in amid the hops and faint malts. The taste delivers a pleasing blend of mango and cantaloupe and pineapple with some mild yeastiness flowing into a Brett like sensation. To midway the hops become a little juicier as the mild malt sweetness bubbles to the surface. It remains a tad juicy and Brett like right into the after taste. Another solid offering with pleasing balance and depth and refreshment.
