Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session 3, 02/05/2015. Amber with a decent beige covering. Nose is red berry fruit, red wine linger, wooded notes, straw, red grape notes. Taste comprises light funk, red wine notes, jammy berry, light caramel. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with light warming alcohol laced with red wine notes. Decent enough offering but a barley wine ?

Tap at Kings Arms. It pours cloudy deep red-brown with a decent off-white head. The nose is soft, juicy, jammy, sweet red grape, vinous. The taste is smooth, juicy red grape, jammy berry, toasted brown bread, warming alcohol, wood, fig, light spice and over-ripe stone fruit with a smooth, fruity finish. Full body and decent carbonation. Rather jammy grape character. Good depth. Rather nice.

Keg at Kings Arms. It pours cloudy mahogany brown with a decent off-white head. The nose is sweet apple pie, toffee, tart tatin, festive spice, stewed orange, scrumpy, wood and leather. The taste is bitter, very woody, old leather cough, stewed apple, pear skin, a good deal of festive spice, apple pie, quite dry, vanilla and some warming alcohol with a pretty dry finish. Fulsome body and fine carbonation. Christmas has come early! Flavoursome and punchy. Nice one.

An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of odd berries, malt, alcohol, and spices. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, over ripe fruits, and caramel, leading to a bitter finish.

Draft at Buxton Taphouse in Derbyshire. Really. In a brandy snifter, in the UK. I am not making this up. And while I may not be 100% sober, I am NOT hallucinating. Opaque deep brown color, bright beige head with good retention. Aroma of burnt cocoa, pepper. Taste is smooth rich cocoa powder and chocolate milk, very light pepper heat at the finish. Rich body. A welcome change after being golden aled to death.

Draft at Buxton Taphouse. Cloudy to murky purple color, massive off pink head. Aroma of grape, stonefruit, dust, port wine. Taste is boozy summer fruit. Tasty. My 50th Arizona rating, obtained in Derbyshire. Obviously.
