33 cl. bottle @ Bahnhove in Hove. BBF 04/08/2015. Pours a blackis, extremely dark brown with a creamy tanned head. Nose is pretty sweet, milky chocolate with lots of sweet dried fruits like raisins & dotes, coffee with cream, sweet coffee grounds,… Taste is pretty unbalanced, bitter liquorish upfront with coffee, lots of sweet dried fruits, light herbs in the back, finish is pretty messy with cold coffee, thinner, almost watery in the back with some Malibu Rum type booze in the back, some bitter roots. Still despite these flaws, pretty enjoyable & way more interesting and fun than most run-of-the-mill BE beers which a great thing.

(bottle, 37.5cl, brewed by Hof ten Dormaal says the label) Hazy, golden colour with a blond and huge foamy head. Dusty and mildly bready malty aroma with notes of wheat and wort, as well as fruity esters of banana and citrus. Moderately sweet flavour, medium bodied with a modest carbonation. Juicy malty and slightly wheaty taste with fruity notes of banana, peach and a tinge of citrus, accompanied by yeasty spice; sweet and slightly sticky finish. Smells and tastes a bit unripe. 01.IX.13

11/IX/13 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 25/II/15 (2013-843)

Clear dark purple brown beer, huge frothy beige head, very stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: lots of dried fruits, prunes, dates, raisins, etc. Sugary, caramel, some overripe banana, bit of chemical / rubbery touch, if only very faint. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: slightly sweet, caramel start, lots of dried fruits, bitter hops, chocolate, sweet malts, some mocha. Aftertaste: caramel, earthy, sugary, mocha, bitter hops, fruity, dried fruits, raisins, little sourish. This is a very nice beer, I love it! Don't think the style is correct though, would consider it more of heavy dubbel or quad, even if it doesn't have the alcohol, it certainly has it's complexity.

Slightly hazy pale golden colour, white head. Aroma of laundry, yeast, spelt and hops, quite a bit of bubblegum and candy. Light sour, light bitter flavour, malts, spelt and yeast. Light sour finish, sweets and yeast.
Brought for those completing the HtD collection. Decent, though I found it a bit disappointing, I like some of their other beers more.

Thx. to Martinus for this one another one added to my Hof ten Dormaal collection. 375 ml. green bottle sampled @ RBBWG 2013. Opaque yellow with a white head. Nose showcase the typical home-grown barley & hop character of HtD with their atypical hops winning the show mixed with a lot of herbs & coriander. Taste is sweet, milk, lots of spices, coriander, cleaning agents, their home-grown hop & barley showing here. Medium hazy, bodied, I believe that I was supposed to dislike this one… meh it is not bad & enjoyable albeit not their best.

37.5cl bottle sample @ RBBWG 2013, courtesy of Tinus.

Sampled from bottle @ RBBWG 2013. Hazy yellow color, full sized good lacing white head. Smell and taste a light sourness and some fruitpeel. Don’t really like it but it could be worse.

Head fast gone over hazy orange-golden beer. Citrus, orange, leafy and yeasty. Smells... unfinished. Spicy-yeasty main flavour, some indefinite yeastesters. Slick, medium bodied, yeast-filled, well-carbonated feel. Needs lagering, lagering... before leaving the brewery.
