Bottle at Chriso pre-GBBF tasting 09. Summer grass saisony hop aroma. Served warm which was a shame, so a bit sweaty sox. I have a bottle in the fridge to re-rate. 3/6 Re-rate from the bottle in the fridge. It’s a decent summer spritzy golden ale. Not big and flashy, but there is enough hop on the end there. I can just imagine Justin’s smile as he sank a bottle of this on a hot day. He’d be pretty happy, and so would I.

LCRBM 2009. The bottle looks simple but good. The beer in the glass light brown, modest turbid, small head. Modest fruity aroma. Starts weak but shows then very nice and intense hoppy notes, strong, fresh and flowery. Well balanced, modest dry finish. A very good beer!

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol 16/09/09. Golden in colour with a decent, frothy white head. Hoppy aroma of gooseberries, citrus and also some balancing sweetness. Very easy drinking, with plenty more fruity New Zealand Hop character, a touch of caramel and a lingering, dryish finish. Hugely drinkable.

Draft. An almost opaque black beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, alcohol, sweet malt, and a bit of soy sauce. THe flavor is sweet with strong notes of alcohol, wood, and roasted malt, as well as notes of soy sauce and dark chocolate, leading to a dry finish where notes of alcohol and wood lingers.
