Super deep, dark brown coloured body with a light brown head, about two centimtres tall and super velvety. Aroma of very strong and pungent roasted malt and nuts with a good deal of coffee and vanilla with a strong and noticeable alcohol aroma with a good bitterness throughout. Full-bodied; Strong very pungent roasted malt, oatmeal, coffee, earth, nuts, alcohol, anise and deep caramelised or even burnt sugars show through iniitally with a deep alcohol and pungent kick at the end with bitterness throughout. Aftertaste shows bitterness, alcohol, roasted malt, nuts, earth, vanilla, coffee, anise and a bit of figs and pitted fruits that show nicely and provide a robust, yet bitter kick that is slightly mellowed out. Overall, a very strong and pungent beer that shows the alcohol and very bittered coffee and nutty flavours throughout, despite being a bit more than two years old - I should have kept this for a few more, for sure. I sampled this 75 cL bottle, purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 14-November-2017 US$8,99, sampled at home in Manassas, Virginia on 28-November-2019, Thanksgiving Day, 2019, just over two years from purchase.

Thanks Shuichi for sharing! Taster showing black with half a finger of latte colored foam. The nose shows moderately intense notes of roasted coffee and light bell pepper. The palate is well carbonated and light bodied. Coffee forward and a moderate coffee bitterness.

Pitch black color. Dark brown head. Massive coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malt character. Fairly dry. Full body off sweet, low carbonation. Alcohol very well hidden. Smooth. But just lacks a bit of depth. Good without being great
