Description
We are an independent micro-brewery that started brewing in 2012. Based in the picturesque town of Dolgellau our name is inspired by the dramatic Cader Idris Mountain which overlooks the town and the beautiful Mawddach estuary here in Snowdonia, North Wales.

Brewing by hand in small quantities using traditional methods, we combine the finest ingredients with the distinctive local Welsh Water to give to give each ale its own individual flavour and aromas.

We hope you enjoy them!

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - amber with a slightly off-white fluffy head. Nose - light toffee and malt loaf. Taste - initial sweet malty loaf, going into a dry almost astringent brown bread. Palate - light to medium bodied, creamy texture, lightly astringent finish. Overall - a bit challenging.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - golden with very low carbonation. The head disappears in a couple of minutes. Nose - sweet malt, cake mixture and honey. Taste - cakey and honey again. Palate - light to medium bodied, low carbonation as expected from the appearance. The finish could be fresher. Overall - it's under-carbonated.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - golden with a thin head. Then it disappears quickly. Nose - caramel and floral honey. Taste - honey and lavender. Palate - light to medium bodied. A bit sticky on the finish for the style. Overall - too sweet for the style. Needs more hop bitterness.

Bottle from Stori. Appearance - deep amber with a very slightly off white head. Nose - Highland toffee with an edge of shortbread. Taste - more of the same. Palate - close to medium bodied. Chewy texture. Initial sweetness that finishes fairly dry eventually. Overall - more of a Bitter than an Amber ale.

Third by hand-pulled cask at GBBF Winter, Jewellers Bar. Shared with Finn. Misty warm golden body, bubbles on the surface, rings of lace down the glass. Moderate malt-fruity nose, semi sweet. Hints of honeyed malts to the taste buds added by distant dried fruits to the ending. Fair enough. (Birmingham 05.02.2020).

Bottle from Rhug Farm Shop, Wales. Amber-brown with a negligible white head and a middling fizz. Dominated by caramel and malt, with a touch of Ribena and a smidgen of spice. Negligible hop presence. It's on the sweet side, and the mouthfeel is rather clammy, but it's just about drinkable.
