Interesting graphics on this one, Martin House does it right. A tall boy can purchased from my local beer shop, not inexpensive but they provide a service. I have a tulip glass in place, make the pour. An indistinct light gold liquid completed with a modest skim of ivory white foam, nice carbonation replenishing. An attractive scent, citrus, tropical, a bit of toffee, grain and enough pine to mention. The taste is good too in a style that I do not do flips over. Cut pine, pineapple, ruby red grapefruit, malt, apricots and a small hoppy bitterness. This one is all over the place, in an appreciated way. Plenty of WC influence to offset the NE designation. The sensation is substantial, I would have anticipated a higher ABV from that. Again, Martin House does it right.

Another beer found at Mr. T's in town. They seem to carry a lot of Martin House which is all right by me. I open the pint can and tilt inside of a globe glass. The appearance is a dark brown liquid with amber highlights finished by a skim of tan foam that is aggressively recharged. I smell chocolate, syrup and toasted grain. The taste is a beer cocktail. Chocolate again, vanilla, scorched toast, malt, cola and a bit of tobacco. Substantially dense. Too sweet for me to enjoy that much. I get more of a pastry stout effect than anything else.

12 oz. can. Pours black, with a smaller, dense, brown head. The nose is dark chocolate, butterscotch, vanilla, smooth rye, and pecan. Sweet and malty, with a mild, earthy bitterness. Very heavy body, chewy, and pretty clean. Bold, surprisingly balanced, and complex. Quite nice.

A 12 oz can from my local beer shop, seriously priced for the serving, hope it is worth the while. I am finding this style of imperial stouts is often very sweet and over-flavored from what I like in my basic impy stout. So it is time to proceed. Flip the tab and pour into my favorite globe glass. A mostly black body with a spare skim of light tan, finely bubbled foam that benefits from a steady carbonation. The smell is similar to a black forest cake, uh oh. I have a taste and determine lots of chocolate, vanilla, malt, a bit of grain or nuts and significant sweetness. There is some alcohol in the background, I would have liked that to go past the dessertness. My opinion.

12 ounce can. 2023 vintage. 9.8% ABV. 15 IBU’s. Jet black pour. Frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma explodes with sweet coconut. Flavor is bittersweet chocolate, sweetened coconut, vanilla and a hint of rum. Layered complexity. Sticky mouthfeel. Cloying finish. Interesting.

Aromas are mainly coconut with dark malt, cocoa, molasses and roast. Flavors are like nose, sweet up front with decent carbonation and a hint of bitter to balance. Alcohol is hidden. Good but not great.

On tap @... On Tap. Very dark brown on black pour. The head cascades & settles in layers. You can see a greasy blend of different foam densities as it settles, it's weird. Maybe the peanut butter was seriously oily. Peanut butter dust & coco nose; Unassuming. Stiff barrel, peanut oil, mellow vanilla, chocolate cake, decent earthy bitterness, very slight char. A little sweet but not terrible. Foamy, thick milkshake, lots of burnt going down. This is surprisingly good.
