Poured into a nonic pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt amber color with a nice finger’s worth of white foamy head. Slow dissipation. Sly messy lacing.
The aroma had some crisp semi-sweet biscuity to nutty malts. Some grassy hops, slight earthiness.
The flavor combined the nuts, biscuits and grassy hops somewhat bitter but sweet. Sly malty aftertaste. Quick wet nutty smooth finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Crisp maltiness lays down on my tongue, feels good.
Overall, good amber ale worthy of more pours.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a black color with a finger’s worth of white to off white foamy head that dissipated evenly leaving some speckled lace.
The aroma had some roasty coffee bean with some sweet and spicy black licorice. Roasted nuts. Caramel tones.
The flavor leaves some sweet to roasty coffee beans and milk chocolate sweetness flowing underneath a huge amount of caramel and toffee malts. Slick malty aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Roastiness seems tame along my tongue but caramel malts seem to feel slick.
Overall, weird porter, as if there’s too much caramel malts going on. Not necessarily one I would come back to.

From Trader Joe in Vegas. Pours a clear, deep copper colour with a beige head, decent retention and a little lace. Fruity dark malt nose with some light hops. A lot of the same in the taste but with the hops being more powerful in the finish, and roasted malts lingering. I feel some mild infection in this one, so hope this is not in others. Decent average porter.

12 ounce bottle from Trader Joe’s. Translucent brown color with a moderate fluffy light tan head. Sweet roasted malt nose is redolent of cocoa. Thin bodied with slight notes of cocoa and weak coffee. Slightly lactic with little more to offer. Skip this one.

12oz bottle at an art event, can’t tell you how it looked. Smells heavy with malt and licorice. Flavor is chewy malts, molasses and licorice. Full bodied, lightly sweet finish.

Bottle: Poured a clear dark color porter with a medium size light brown foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light chocolate and roasted malt notes is enjoyable. Taste is a mix of chocolate malt with some roasted malt notes with some light dry finish. Body is light with good carbonation. A bit short on complexity but well drinkable.

Roasted aroma; flavor has a fruit profile to it mixed with coffee which makes it awkard to my taste. Bit of a coal like feel
