Brown bottle from Trader Joes. Nutty, chocolaty aroma. Near opaque brown/black color with reddish hilites. A respectable beige/tan head. Thin to medium body with fizzy carbonation. Flavor is caramel, nutty, and maybe a light touch of chocolate. The finish has a slight sour note, some nut, some roasted malt. Reasonably dry. Bitter. Interesting porter.

2004 draught at KBC in ME. Pours a light coppery/straw golden yellow. Small white head. Aroma is crisp, yet quite hoppy and lightly metallic. Flavor has hints of grain and a very high bitterness for the relatively lacking malt aspect. Drank it down quickly, but it just didnt have any balance or interesting aspects. Good medium to medium full body, but just to americanized pale ale tasting. This tastes nothing like an english bitter. Way too hoppy/metallic/acidic.

Copper-coloured; Earthy, butterscotchy palate and aroma. Slight grassiness. Simplistic rating for a simplistic brew.
