[Draft at the DC location] A red-brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with a light roasted note. The flavor is sweet malty with the faintest of roasted notes.

[Draft at the DC location] A light yellow beer with a thick white head. The aroma is sweet malty, and the flavor is very crisp malty with a dry bitter end from a good hop sort. But the body is thin.

[At the DC location] A light yellow beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty with a hoppy note - though not very Saaz like. The flavor is sweet malty with a hoppy note - again my guess is that it is not Saaz. The end is dry.

On draught at the Kölsch tapping party 6/29/06: Pours clear golden yellow with a good amount of bubbles. Thin and bubbly white head and minimal lacing. Aroma of light floral hops and spices. Light with a lively mouthfeel, with floral hops, malt and sweet fruit flavors. The finish is dry and effervescent, with a lingering hops flavor. Pretty good all around.

(Bottled) Nose is malty with a raisiny undertone; copper colored with a small, quickly disipating head; flavor shows the malts, caramel, and a small hoppy finish. Evidently the bottled is better than the draft.

Nose is malty with a little fruit esters; Orange/gold color with not much head; flavor is citrusy malts with a hint of berries. Finish shows a small amount of hop bitterness.

Tapl Light sweet malt aroma. Amber color with small head. Moderate malt flavor with a good astringent finish. This is much better style-wise than their Blonde Bock and the best of the six I tried. Nice.

Tap. Sweet apple aroma. Medium golden color. Primarily straight malt flavor with just a hint of astringency. More like a lager than a bock - sort of like Shiner Bock. Tastes nice but very little bock characteristic in this one so I had to score it lower. As a straight forward beer, really pretty good. Maybe a good first bock for the inexperienced so as not to scare them away from the style.

Tap. Maple syrup and malt aroma. Medium brown color with small head. Molasses/maple syrup and moderate malt flavor. NIce flavor but like their Weizen, a bit weak. If they could get more body, they’d really have some great beers.
