Dark cola coloured body with a frothy tan head, almost non-existant. Aroma of roasted malt, pit fruit, nuts and some raisins. Medium-bodied; Nice full roasty malt flavour with a good long-lasting pit fruit sweetness. Aftertaste lingers and lasts quite a while. Overall, a good overall dunkel-the best beer from the brewpub and recommended if anyone visits the facility. I sampled this on draught on 29-September-2004 at the brewpub on 9th & F in Washington, D.C.

Slightly hazy golden coloured body with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, some caramel and little else. Light-bodied; Small cardboard flavour with some mild german hops, some caramel and a mild malt taste. Really nothing to speak of in the aftertaste either. Overall, not a great beer at all. Not what I was expecting for the season, but that was tasted as the Marzen (which is offered regularly?) instead. Clear ruby-tinted amber coloured body with a nice dense off-white head. Aroma of malt, slight toffee & light sugars. Light-bodied; Mild malt flavour with slight sugary tastes. Aftertaste clean with some mild malt tastes and other subtle flavours. Overall, not so great-but decent right before a red-eye flight! I sampled this beer from draught at The Crab Pot in San Francisco International Airport (SFO) on the second day of 10-June-2004...our first was spent in Sydney, Australia.

Cloudy yellow. Estery banana aroma. Sweet, soft and aromatic. Light bodied with loads of cloves. Really good real hefeweizen, even if it might lack complexity.

Hazy pale orange. Fairly sweet. Medium bodied. The malt character is somewhat soft and chewy, but the beer is on the neutral side. Low bitterness. This is maybe the only American true-to-style oktoberfest beers I have, and it is not a bad one, but I’d like to see even more malty mouthfeel, and definitely more buttery malt flavour.

Clear golden. Disturbingly neutral aroma. Sweet and reasonably malty. There’s a vague hint of the dense, near dusty malt character that I find so attractive in the best pale bocks. This is very light flavourwise.

Some beers are bland, others are mediocre. This one is simply shameful. The clear copper red body was somewhat promising, but the flavor is cheap and adjuncty, reminiscent of the rice syrup homebrewers use to brew malt liqours. Sugary and that's about it. A lame effort and a lame brewer.
