(Cask at GBBF, London, 8 Aug 2007) Black colour with brief pale brown head. Malty, roasted nose with lots of chocolate. Roasted, malty taste with notes of chocolate, dark fruit, caramel and a nice cocoa bitterness in the finish. Balanced fruity sweetness mingles well with roasted malt all the way. Very nice, mellow but still powerfull porterish strong mild.

Cask handpull at Fat Cat, Norwich. Orangey/red colour with lasting thin pink/white head. Not a huge aroma. Some cranberry fruit in mouth. It’s alright. Not much cereal. Some hop presence on finish. It’s fine

Bottle: Extremely dark amber coloured, small but lacing tanned head; estery-fruity nose with traces of roasted malt and with a little acidity; sourish-bitter flavour, light bodied; acidity also detectable in the short bitter-roast-malty finish. Possibly infected, but still drinkable..........
