Bottle from Gulating Brennåsen. Almost clear golden body with a nice, lacing, creamy off-white head. A bit weak in aroma, fruity, ripe tropical fruit and some malt. Flavor is sweet malt, mature tropical fruit, oranges and moderate bitterness. Medium body and a bit short in aftertaste. Drinkable and probably food friendly, but not very exiting.

Bottle @ summer boat trip. Black body with a nice tan head. Aroma has dark malt, licorice and chocolate. Taste is actually nice as it’s not excessively sweet, but has a fine balance between malt, chocolate and licorice and still gives a clear impression of a being a milk stout. Might suffer a bit on the low alcohol but otherwise it’s surprisingly well made.

Bottle from Gulating. I see there is a quite mixed response on this beer and that's totally understandable, what do you expect from a hot pastry porter in Norwegian grocery strength? Something balanced? That's not going to happened so this is probably more about if you like sweet chill hot and appreciate the effort of cooking something decent out of it. OK going to try to make a few comments based from neutral ground here. Starting with the easy part – it looks nice, clear, deep amber, almost black body with a small, lacing, dense beige head. Aroma has chocolate, smooth dark malt, lacto and hint of green pepper. Flavor is pretty sweet, but not sticky, dark malt with low roast, lots of chili and all over relatively smooth if not paying to much attention to the chili. Body is somewhere between medium and something better, actually quite nice body for the low strength alcohol. Aftertaste is smooth, hot and sweet chocolate. Not bad at all and the vanilla level is kept at an adoptable non nauseating level. I’m actually surprised of how much I appreciated this one.

Bottle. An unclear orange to deep golden colored beer with a minmal sized white head. The aroma is almost entirely lime and lemon, with a good dash of honey. A herbal hint too. It's sour and medium bodied, softly carbonated, with a flavor dominated by lime and lemon. Quite a lot of honey and a touch of oxidation. Lasting finish. I seriously question the ingredients list on the label, which says there's more malts than lemon and lime. 220202

Bottle. An unclear orange colored beer with a small off-white head. The aroma is citrusy acidic with a hint of licorice. Candyish in a way. It's medium bodied and dry on the palate, nicely carbonated, with a good dash of acidity, in an acidic candy way. Generic citrus, passionfruit and some licorice in the flavor. Medium length finish. I'd like more licorice in this one I think, it feels a bit one dimensional, but it's a decent one anyway. More fun and interesting than really good though. 191005
