6/10 β€” Appearance 7 Aroma 6 Flavor 6 Texture 5 Overall 6
Reviewed from notes. Consumed 12/18/2017.
Bottle to chalice.
Appearance: dark muddled brown close to dark purple - maybe black sort of color with no head and no lace
Aroma: dark fruits, Belgian sugars, some bubblegum, sweet wafers, some vanilla extract, really sweet bananas
Flavor: copies the aromas pretty spot on to a sweet quality with a hint of spice; finishes dark fruity, bubblegum-like and sugary
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable? Yeah, I believe so. Hmmmm...too much smoothness to the point of being somewhat in between "mobile" and "watery." Little bit of a hard stare at the brewer
Overall: well, no "back-of-the-throat" Belgian-like dryness/grab, the body seemed off and where were the Belgian spices? Not sure what they were "entirely" trying to do with this one.

Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark amber/copper color with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruity, pineapple-y, grassy sweet hoppiness; malts seem clean but some caramel malts? Yeah, I think so
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a bitter to bittersweet quality; finishes malty and grassy
Texture: medium bodied, not really sessionable or a good sipper, some smoothness but some hoppy stabs to the tongue
Overall: another beer by this brewery that I would not return to.

Appearance: burnt orange haziness with a two finger white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruity, stiff piney-ness and a heck of a lot of grassiness; sweet malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a bittersweet to bitter quality; finishes piney and very grassy
Texture: light to medium bodied; somewhat sessionable; some smoothness and some hop bitterness assertiveness - mostly non-offensive
Overall: hmmmm, well, thanks for the beer tick, Brewmaster Jack.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: hazy burnt yellow to orange color with a finger and a half's worth of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruit, pine and grassy hops; light peppery/hop spice, sweet malts - somewhat caramel/toffee
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine bitter to bittersweet vibe; finishes grapefruity with peppery hop spice and pretty dry
Texture: light to medium bodied - leaning more towards the light side - slightly; some sessionable; some smoothness but brisk hop spice seems clamp down on the tongue
Overall: kinda works as a session IPA but maybe just a wee bit dry-er than I thought.

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: glossy yellow to orange haziness with a finger's worth of white frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: grapefruity to floral and piney hops; light sweet malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a bitter to bittersweet quality; finishes malty with grapefruity & piney hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, sessionable, some smoothness with some hop assertiveness but nothing overbearing
Overall: not a bad beer but in a world full of IPA's ya kinda have to make your IPA's stand out and I'm not exactly seeing this one truly stand out with those

Can to becher glass.
Appearance: dark brown close to black color with a three finger khaki frothy head which dissipated nicely to leave a little bit of lace
Aroma: dark roasted malts, roasty coffee, light notes of cocoa powder and dark bread then some sweet ash
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas together in a sweet to roasty sort of way; finishes dry with some ash and roasty tones
Texture: light to medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; some smoothness but also a good deal of dryness over the tongue from those ashy notes.
Overall: not bad but might be better if I didn't smell and taste so much ash in this

5.3/10 β€” Appearance 7 Aroma 5 Flavor 5 Texture 5 Overall 5
Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: copper color with a sly transparency about it; finger's worth of white foamy head which settled off at a nice pace with a little bit of lace
Aroma: grassy hops with a light waxy/crayon note and some muted citrusy/pineapple/piney hops; caramel malts? Yea, I think so.
Flavor: blends those prior noted aromas to a bitter to bitter/stifled sweet tone; finishes grassy and malty
Texture: medium bodied? I think so. Not sure if this is sessionable or a sipper? Hmmmm...smoothness? Hmmmm, not so much
Overall: another swing and a miss by this brewer and this was a can consumed one month after canning date.
